Went to Dr. Joseph Napoleon Ortiz, MD on Indian School Rd. (Phoenix Medical) as a new patient just needing a blood test for thyroid medicine since I just moved to Arizonia. They took my card (glad I had insurance since the other 4 people in the office were homeless etc. They did the normal test, height-weight blood pressure. Ask me again why I was here. I brought my Medical bottles with me to show what I needed.Nothing was said about all new patients were required to have full treatment. My insurance Does Not Cover Full Treatments just the bare basic coverage. Fast forward one month. Wow, not only did I get a Full Bill from the Office ($200), I also got one from Sonora Quest Labs for ($250) because no one called Aetna to see my coverage. If Id known I was getting every blood test in town and A so-called complete check up I would have found a new doctor. After many calls Dr. Ortiz office they were in the wroung and paid the $200, but today they called and said Lab work was on me. I am Filing an Appeal with the Aetna over the lies and putting the screws to Aetna over Services not requested. I am also contracting the AZ Medical board and BBB plus the appeal with Aetna about the Office pulling fast ones on Seniors ande anyone else who will just they the bill without questions. NOt me. I'm not done yet. Brenda From Billing said they did not have to call Aetna, so that means every new patient will get the screws. Sorry, Dr. Ortiz office, someone dropped the ball that day (Those were the words from Brenda-Billing Department) this problem would not be happening. The interent is a powerful tool and I will use it. Dr. Ortiz physicals was Press up on my arm. This man smelled so bad (smoke). Wow Doc, must be 90 and smelled. Don't go there. FYI
