Today I went to Dr. Boulter's office as a new patient using my Blue Cross Blue Sheild federal employee insurance plan. After a painful exam (measuring for periodontal disease) and extensive dictation about crowns and dental restoration he told me that I had a grave dental situation. Fractured teeth bad fillings etc.
I have known about my tooth fractures for years and have dealt with them when problems have presented themselves. Seeing where this consultation was headed I quickly informed Dr. Boulter of my financial limitations (extremely limited dental insurance)when it came to restorative dental work. He bristled back that he would not consider treating me except for a total treatment plan and told the hygenist that I should leave the office.
This is the most outragious situation that I have ever had in a dentist's office. I am warning anyone who is in the Jacksonville.Florida area and in need of a new dentist not to waste your hard earned money in consulting with this DR. Joseph Boulter. If you go to his web site you can see that he thinks very highly of himself and apparently so do some of the trade magazines around. I wonder if these publications are also aware of his practice of bullying patients into his prescribed (financially self-serving) treatment.
I have written to BCBS about having him removed as a preferred provider. The average federal employee does not have the income to finance ten's of thousands of dollars in reconstructive dentistry. I hope that they will consider removing him from the list.

Dr Joseph Boulter have been my families dentist for 20 years. He is honest and very professional. He is very knowledgeable in his field, never seen anyone more knowledgeable than him. Before Dr. Boulter, my wife and I went to other dentist that would either ripp us off or lied to us. If any of you have any doubts, I dare you to visit his office and take a good look. You will notice that there are always gift baskets or thank you cards from satisfied patients everyday.
As for Roxanne, I wish you good luck in finding other dentist who would have no problem taking your hard earned money.

A dentist who will not conduct supervised neglect...

Roxanne was examined for the first time on 08/27/07. At that visit, we informed the patient of all dental concerns and the necessary treatment to correct the situations present. We always try to make dental visits as comfortable as possible. Any discomfort may be a result of a current condition which has been left untreated. We stress the importance of not ignoring problems "until they hurt". We can not adequately treat patients who only treat "what hurts". We treat patients - NOT insurances. Limitations on dental policies are a contract between the patient and their employer and policies do not dictate treatment needed.
Dr. Boulter has achieved his Masters in the Academy of General Dentistry. He is continuously furthering his education and lectures on numerous topics. We receive most of our new patients through referrals of existing patients. Patients who value a dentist with high standards of care.
