Drews RV Tech Quoted $2600 for unnecessary repair ruskin Florida

Drew was called to service an inoperable RV refrigerator.  The service call was $95.  The diagnosis was that the failure was caused by a tripped ot failed safety switch.  Drew refused to replace the switch and said the fix was a new cooling unit or refrigerator.  Formally quoted the following business day at $2600 for the cooling unit and 4400 for a new refrigerator.

While waiting for the quote I called the Refrigerator manufacturer (Norcold).  The representative could not believe the solution offerred and said a failed cooling system would have an obvious ammonia smell and yellow residue plua it would not operate if the switch was by passed as was done as a temporay fix.  They said the switch could trip or fail for several reasons, that it could be tested and either reset or replaced at Norcold expense.  I was about to be ripped off over $2600 for an unnecessary repair.
