I placed an order with one "Seth Petruzelli" for a number of poppy pods, prior experience dealing with him via eBay had suggested he was a legitimate business man; though I had not dealt with him recently.

Soon after placing my order on 9/26/10 I received an email explaining that the product I had ordered was out of stock and asking whether I would accept other product of similar value, which I agreed to. In this mail "Mr. Petruzelli" noted that the charge would appear from "Jack-sons Sports Bar" on my statement and please do not call the bar, etc. etc. "they know nothing about it."

I was immediately displeased, but agreed to the downgrade and presumed he might just be ignorant/amateurish insofar as credit card processing. It should have been a red flag right there that he was not using Paypal, Authorize.net or similar.

On 9/30/10 at 8:21 A.M. I sent an inquiry wondering why no charge had been posted to my card, to which he replied, the same day, at 6:04 P.M. "We don't charge the cards until we are ready to ship.  Your order will ship within 24 to 48 hrs.  Thanks and have a great day!"

Later that day at 11:51 P.M. he sent me an email noting that my credit card number was coming up as invalid, I responded on 10/01/10 at 9:23 A.M with the correction of a signal digit which I had miss-transcribed (I'm dyslexic) and with my sincere apologies.

I discovered at this time that he is using "jotform" to process his incoming orders, which was exceedingly displeasing as it is not in the least a secure manner to handle credit card transactions over the internet. Nor was "Mr. Petruzelli"'s behavior of sending me an email including my credit card number secure or professional. I was very displeased, but still willing to accept some naivete on his part.

The charge cleared from my account 10/3/10, at which point I expected to receive a tracking number within 24-48 hours. I did not. On 10/7/10 (giving him a more than thorough margin of time) I sent another inquiry about my order's status. I received no reply and began to be quite suspicious due to the slow and unprofessional nature the whole order had been handled in and searched around finding the numerous other reports of malfeasance on the part of this "business" on ripoffreport. I found his name to be Kyle French, not Seth Petruzelli (cursory googling revealed that Seth Petruzelli is an MMA fighter whereas Kyle French is a 35 year old son of Shanna and Kenneth French, the owner of Jack-sons Sports Bar and Restaurant in Kennewick Washington.)

I realized I would probably never get my order, I sent one more email on 10/7/10 at 10:08 P.M. stating I had found the numerous ripoff reports, and also "If I do not hear from you promptly, I will challenge this charge with VISA. Please do either ship the order, provide confirmation of shipping, or refund my money. I will not consider this matter closed until I have received the product I am due or my money in full."

I will file a complain with my card provider tomorrow during business hours.

Dealt with "Seth" on 2 separate occasions with similar outcomes

AUTHOR: pisces87 - (United States of America)

POSTED: Wednesday, November 03, 2010

I ordered from "Seth" in August, paying for 3 lbs of cracked pods. Well, my credit card was charged the same day as the order was placed, and I received the all-too-familiar "form email" advising of slower ship times and that I shouldn't contact the sports bar for any reason, and please do not email them as this slows down the order process. HA! Whoever heard of that! I mean, REALLY! You get someone's money, then tell them not to contact you for any reason, and basically tell them that they should sit down and shut up until you feel like sending their order. That's pure BALONEY! Anyway, after 2.5 weeks without a word from him, I politely email to ask for my money back if it was gonna be much longer for my order to ship. The first email got not response at all, so I emailed again the next day and PRESTO! I got another form letter with a tracking number enclosed from him, stating that the order had shipped. The package actually took 6 days to arrive here in SC, which is odd for Priority mail, as I have ordered something from ALASKA and the package arrived in 3 days. What a SURPRISE I got when I opened the package...instead of 3lbs cracked pods there was 3lbs of the tiniest pods that I have ever seen in my life! I emailed him to complain about the order, as I had not OK'd any type of substitute, but to no avail. I never OK'd or expected such a downgrade switcharoo! My sister also ordered from him in September, not knowing about my experience with him beforehand. She also was treated the exact same way I was. I would have NEVER ordered from him in the FIRST PLACE if I had known that the order would take so long...DO NOT BELIEVE THE WEBSITE'S CLAIM OF ORDERS SHIPPING OUT NORMALLY IN 1 BUSINESS DAY AND SAME DAY IF ORDERED BY 1PM!!! ALL LIES TO GET YOUR MONEY! I don't think he even has the products that he claims to have in stock and ready to ship! If he did, none of us would have had the "old bait-and-switch" happen to them! This guy doesn't know the first thing about good customer service...all he seems to be good at are taking your hard-earned money up front and keeping it, telling BIG LIES, and delivering sub-standard products after you've waited 3 wks or longer! BUYER BEWARE!!

JotForm does NOT processes credit cards

AUTHOR: CromwellD - (USA)

POSTED: Wednesday, October 13, 2010

FWIW, JotForm does NOT, and I say again, does NOT process credit cards.  JotForm is merely a tool to create a form (e.g., it makes it so the consumer can type in their name, address, etc.).  If he is using it incorrectly (I would suspect he is merely creating a form to collect the credit card information and then using his credit card processor at his parent's bar, then it is HIS fault, not JotForm's.  It is not designed for that purpose!

Finally a reply

AUTHOR: Proletariate - (United States of America)

I just received a follow up email from Seth/Kyle (the proprietor of Driedpoppiesdirect..). Stating that he would be shipping my order within 24-48 it has been a week since I placed my order. Seth/Kyle has no shame and is non-apologetic as it pertains to his business and customer service failures.

I am in the same boat as you guys. I am now considering filing a claim with the BBB. Do either of you gentleman have any input on the cause and effect of me attempting to do something of this nature? Also should I contact Jack son's sports bar first?

Followup on my initial report

AUTHOR: matto - (United States of America)

POSTED: Tuesday, October 12, 2010

I have challenged the charge on the basis of it being fraudulent and have canceled the card.

May this fraudster and his enabling family see their just desserts. No shortage in any market makes his behavior responsible, businesslike or ethical; he has been out of several products for quite a while and yet he does not update his webpage.

There are other vendors who are responsive, swift and bussinesslike. If you make the mistake of getting ripped off by this fellow, please do challenge his charge when it becomes apparent you will not receive your order.

interesting thing about the credit cards info

AUTHOR: 1madcustomer - (United States of America)

POSTED: Monday, October 11, 2010

thanks for the info about how he processes his credit cards through his website. i'm not familiar with online card processing, but i do know that he shouldn't be using the bar to process his cards. i'm sorry that you had to find out the hard way with this guy, but i'm sure you can see that you're not the only one by far. his website says that it's secure and i did check to see if it was https when i placed my order. i'm not sure what jotform is or how it's used, but i plan to look it up. the first time i ordered from "seth" was in june and that charge went through the bar also. the interesting thing is that a few weeks after someone or some people got my card info with name, cc number and the cvv and used it to drain my account of over $900. the final charges were to 2 telecomm companies in the UK and were used to purchase pre-paid phone products. the one odd thing about it was that the first charge was to a Dr. in Oregon... that charge never went through, it stayed pending until the hold expired. i wonder if anyone else has had a similar experience since doing business with mr. french?
