Where do I even begin? From day 1 Ive had nothing but problems with this company. At the car dealership I was very excited to be getting a car. I had 2,500$ to put down on my vehicle. After being told by the loan officer it was an acceptable amount and that my first payment wasnt due for 45 days, Drive informed me I needed an additional 250$ down. Ok, not a problem.. Then they wanted an additional 250$ down after that PLUS my first months payment up front!! Whatever, I needed a car!!

After that I was asked to provide prrof of Address. The loan officer took a copy of my DL. Drive came back and said that wasnt good enough. So I asked her can I provide you with a copy of my lease from my apartment complex? NO!! She said. We need a bank statement!! Problem... I dont have a bank account. I had to go open one up just to get the car!!

I was finally able to get my car home and no sooner did it start giving me problems(But thats another story!) Everything was fine until I was late with one of my payments over a yr later after purchasing. Not even 1 day late and I was getting calls! Not 1 or 2 calls a day but up to 10! Harrassing messages. Verbally abusive reps, and threats are to name a few ordeals I had to go through.

Just recently I had became late with my payment again and the harrassin calls started again, this time not just to me but to my parents, whom I haven't lives with since 1995.. At 1 point I counted 23 calls in 1 day in consecutive order to my parents house, even after they were asked NOT to call there anymore. I had spoken to my account manager about this, and he flat out told me that they would not stop calling until they recieved a payment or my car. He then proceeded to call me vulgar names. Fine I said, come get your piece of crap car then, it doesnt work anyway!! lol..

Advice: Do NOT, I repeat DO NOT get involved with this company.. There is oh so much more I could tell you about what this company has did (they also have a bad habit of hanging up on people)...

No, I don't work for either of the above mentioned companies.

There are many comments on the web about finance companies that have ripped off consumers and have miss treated them as well. There are many reasons why consumers find themselves in these awful situations. First, the companies mentioned in many off these cases are sub-prime lenders. To consumers that are unaware of what credit means, sub-prime means customers who either have no credit or bad credit. Lending money in this economy is tough and risky. I have worked in sub-prime lending for more than 15 years and I can say it is a difficult business to be in.

The daily calls are a pain, but it has been proven through statistics, that calling everyday does generate payments. Many will refer to it as uncomfortable collections. I guarantee to you that if you make your payment on your due date you will not receive calls. If you pay your Pym's on time you will establish credit and get a lower interest rate the next time. You have to bite the bullet in this case and think about where you want to be 2-5 years down the road. Do you want to buy a house or a new car? What about companies that won't give you a job if your credit is poor. What ever you do, do not surrender your car out of spite because you will be the one to suffer. If your car stops running, you are still responsible for the payments. Keep in mind most states are wage garnishable states and the company will get their money one way or another. It's not just the money; it's about the money it will cost you in interest down the road when your credit is in the toilet.

Do not be mistaken, finance companies do understand things happen and that is why your credit took a bath..but keep in mind they are giving you a second chance..so do the best you can and keep in mind without credit, you can't continue to grow financially.
Some more free advice; don't avoid calls if you are going to be late. Unresponsiveness will result in assumptions, which leads to repossession.

Lastly, uncomfortable collections does not mean that a collector or anyone else has the right to treat you inhumanly. Know your rights.
