I purchased a 2009 Volkswagan Tiguan from drive time in Orlando. The first week the car was running fine, the second week I notice that every time I pushed on the brake it would sweak loudly. So I reviewed my contract and it stated that they would not fix or be responsible for sweaky brakes. A couple of months down the line my engine light comes on. I immediately contacted Drive time and they sent me to a repair shop. While at the repair shop the technician informed me that the car had 4 issues that came up during the diagnosis. So they proceeded to try to repair these problems, 10 min later they came back and said that they were not able to fix it because there are some major issues that may end up costing thousands. Again I contacted drive time and they told me to take it to a Volkswagen dealer to get it fixed. The next couple of days I took the car to a dealer and they inform me that the repairs needed were major and it would cost $2,500 to get them fixed. They told me that there were 4 major problems 2  were fixed because volkswagen had a recall and extended their warranty. However, the other two major issues were the throttle body and the other was a massive oil leak from the rear main seal, and the oil separator. The technician explained to me that these issues were there for a while and is getting worse. I called drive time once again and they informed me that they are not responsible for these repairs. Now I'm stuck paying $446 a month with a car that might go out at any time and I don't have the cash to repair it. Please Please people stay away from these crooks they are only out to get your money and sell you crap!!!!! I will never ever ever deal with these people in the future and will never refer anyone I know to them. Their repair warranty only covers minor items so don't buy from them no such thing as bumper to bumper coverage at drive time!!!

AS IS....

AUTHOR: Tyg - ()

YOU made a USED vehicle purchase. As such there is no warranty other then what you can purchase from them. If YOU have a problem 5 mins after driving it off the lot, its STILL your problem. I know its not nice, but it is what it is. YOU went to a USED CAR DEALERSHIP. Which means that YOU as an adult knew EXACTLY what you were getting yourself into. Why is it ALWAYS someone elses fault?? Why cant you take responsibility for YOUR actions and choices?? Its COMMON KNOWLEDGE that a used vehicle is AS IS. So to hop on the web and cry because YOU took a risk in making a used vehicle purchase. They are going to do an EXTERNAL inspection. If it all checks out, then it goes on the lot. ONLY you and the previous owner are privy to the ACTUAL problems. As far as a used car dealership is concerned, as long as it starts and runs and nothing is leaking, then its a perfectly good vehicle. YOU made the mistake here. YOU didn't take this used vehicle in for a check up BEFORE you signed the paperwork. Its is your right to have a third party mechanic check the vehicle. If YOU did not do this then you really only have yourself to blame.
