Ugly Duckling - drivetime take full advantage of unqualified buyers Las Vegas Nevada

I went to drivetime last march in desperate need of a car. I had no previous credit history so I believed that I wouldnt get financed by a new car dealership. I went down by myself with 800 dolars cash in my pocket.

They helped me to find a group of cars that my credit would qualify for, one being a 2000 plymouth neon. i test drove it and i liked it, so we started paperwork. they told me i would have to put a total of 1000 dollars down but only 800 that day, and the 200 within 60days. They went on to give me a price of 9800 dollars.

Remember that this is a 2000, and it has 57000 miles on it, no extras whatsoever. I believed that the blue book sheet that they showed me was true, i didnt think they could falsify something like that. Then they informed me my interest rate was going to be 29%. I did a once over of the car and i noticed that there was a huge dent in the passenger side door, and they told me they would take 800 dollars off but they couldnt fix it there.

They gave me this whole spiel about how they know it sounds rough but they are there to help build credit, and they are one of the few who report it and within six months i would have great credit. I found out later just how screwed i got when i found out that the car is only worth about 2500, and thus far i have already put about that much into repairs on the car.
