I began working as a temporary work contractor for DSU Incorporated on 2/7/2012.  The client company I worked for was CitiMortgage in O'Fallon Missouri. My assignment @ CitiMortgage was terminated on 3/12/2012. While I was working there my agreed upon salary was $14.00 an hour.

DSU Incorporated owes me for the two final weeks I worked at CitiMortgage. I have made numerous attempts to contact Mr. Joesph Foster HR Manager (919-834-0800 ext 200) @ DSU in order to see when I will get my final pay for this assignment.   Mr. Foster, and others at DSU have ignored my numerous inquiries regarding this much needed pay.

According to Department of Missouri Labor Department law (RSMo 290.110) I was supposed to have been paid my full wages for working @ CitiMortgage within 7 days of me notifying them of this matter.  It has exceeded that time.  The amount of the wages I am owed is easily verified by the client's timekeeping system and my bank's record of deposits from this company.  I am proceeding to small claims court to recover this money.  Also according to Missouri Law I will be back on DSU's payroll in a manner of speaking, if they do not pay me my back wages.  The law says that DSU Incorporated will owe me one day's wages everyday up to 60 days if they do not pay me my back wages within 7 days.  This little stunt of theirs is going to end up costing them way in excess of the actual wages they owe me. I may also ask for punitive and nominal damages as well.

This company is sleazy to the extreme - Juakeia Walden, Brandon Strickland and Joseph Foster are all keen operators who don't answer calls or emails when problems like this arise.  This is particularly sad because this is a minority owned business attempting to screw over a minority.  Do not deal with DSU Incorporated in North Carolina or if you do be prepared to lawyer up to get your wages. It is a company taking advantage of vulnerable people in a fragile economy.

Brandon Strickland Rebuttal

AUTHOR: Bstrickland84 - (United States of America)

POSTED: Wednesday, May 23, 2012

As one of the people mentioned in this post, I must respond.

My name is Brandon Strickland and at the time of this issue, I was simply a recruiter and had no authority to discuss payroll matters. I understand your complaint as I would be highly upset as well, but I sent all payroll concerns to the appropriate parties. I hope everything was resolved for you!

Kindest Regards,

Brandon Strickland

DSU Incorporated files Bankruptcy to Avoid Paying Employees

AUTHOR: Sokar - (United States of America)

POSTED: Sunday, April 22, 2012

Heads up all Employees current and former that DSU owes money too - I ran across something interesting on the Web for everyone of its current or former employees that DSU owes money too.  Here: http://business-bankruptcies.com/cases/dsu-staffing-inc

Apparently they have filed for Chapter 11 Bankruptcy to avoid paying employees all the monies they are owed. They filed on Arpil 1, 2012.  How very sleazy indeed.  Here are some of its creditors:

A Experts AcountantsAccounts
Recovery Bureau, Inc.
BullhornCB Richard Ellis - Raleigh, LLCCES USA, Inc.
Duke Realty
LPEarthlink BusinessEmployment Development Dept.Employment Security Comm of NCHQ dba Regus

Internal Revenue Service
Metro TechnologiesMonster
Worldwide, Inc.Pennsylvania Dept. of RevenueSymetra Financial

They are represented by attorneys Danny Bradford and Paul D. Bradford, PLLC

We may never see this money.  However, two things to remember: We can still attack them with bad PR all over the Internet, Twitter, Facebook, Complaint boards, blogs.., etc. I am even contemplating starting a website and posting their bad checks. (No charge of libel or slander in doing these things because truth is an absolute defense against both)  (2) Debts can still be collected if fraud was involved in obtaining the money.

DSU Incoporated Never Learns; Never Pays its Employees

AUTHOR: Sokar - (United States of America)

POSTED: Friday, April 20, 2012

The recent rebuttal by "Human Resources" is a bunch of clap trap.  They are once again not responding to inquiries about the money they still owe me. They are not answering the email address they posted.  They are and have sent out bogus checks (which is illegal).  Don't believe them when they say the "problems" with payroll have been resolved.  They are now causing me and others a hardship by not paying what they owe us.  I personally vow to let every site out there know about what they are doing by not paying what they owe me.  I will let every media outlet, advocacy group, everyone of their partner companies know what they have done.  I will not rest until I am paid or everyone knows what type of scam they are running.   Human resources is insane if they think that I will forget what they owe me and move on.  Pay me and others what you owe us and we will move on.

Same Old Song and Dance

AUTHOR: Sokar - (United States of America)

POSTED: Thursday, April 19, 2012

We have heard this before.  Just saying the problem is resolved means nothing especially when I have
personally been told that there was a check being overnighted the same
day I emailed DSU and nothing came the next day.  This is why states
have wage laws - to discourage companies from doing crap like this.  I
don't personally care what DSU excuse is for why they didn't pay
people.  That may sound cruel but my creditors, landlord, etc., won't
take these excuses for payment so why should anyone posting here accept
those excuses.

I tried contacting the email in the post by the owner/human resources today and got no response.  I haven't heard anything from this company that claims it is working for its workers.  Actions have consequences.  Not paying people has repercussions in the lives of those people.  One person in this thread had to take her children out of day care other people have and are missing payments on bills, etc.  This is causing a hardship in the lives of people.  I still have not been paid (except with a bum check) all of my final wages and it has been more than a month since I was let go and I started this thread.

Branch Manager and payroll resolve

AUTHOR: Human Resources - (United States of America)

POSTED: Tuesday, April 17, 2012

The DSU Branch Manager with the payroll department looked into these issues and now have any concerns resolved. The team worked with several people during a major payroll implementation with a new payroll service due to DSU picking up a additional 200 employees. The third party that DSU used caused some payroll issues that were taken care of during the implementation time frame of 2-3 weeks. If you have any issues please email payroll@dsuincorporated.com and we will work with you.

We aim to keep our employees happy and are more than willing to work with you.

Today DSU Incorporated almost had me falsely arrested

AUTHOR: Sokar - (United States of America)

POSTED: Wednesday, April 11, 2012

I am absolutely livid!!!  Some background:  I began working for DSU of Raleigh, NC on 2/7/12 for CitiMortgage in O'Fallon, Missouri.  I was terminated on 3/12/2012.  At the time I was owed 64 hours of final pay.  This pay was, according to Missouri statues to be paid within 7 days of my requesting it or additional penalties would be incurred against DSU Incorporated.  After begging and pleading for my final pay, DSU issued me a paper check for HALF of what they owe me about a week or so ago.  Because I do not have an account at a brick and mortar bank, I cashed the check at a local bar.  (I took the money and spent it towards much needed expenses.)  Yesterday, I got a check for what I thought was the rest of what they owed me.  I took this check back to the same bar and the owner informed me that the first check was returned for insufficient funds.  He also threatened to make sure that a warrant was issued for my arrest for "passing a bad check."  I explained the situation and he took the new check and said that he would not press charges against me IF this check cleared.  (Several nights ago I saw someone taking pictures of my license plate in the middle of the night and now I know why.)

I have never been in trouble with the law in my life and because DSU is the sleazy company that it is, I was almost arrested and the owner may still send the police after me if the repayment check doesn't clear.  On top of that, I still have not been paid for the final 32 hours I am owned.  My advice is to sue, sue, sue, sue, sue.  Be prepared for a similar ordeal if they send you a check.  I have been in the work force for more years than I care to divulge and I have never encountered such a slipshod, seedy, crummy group of crooks in my life.

Similar Situation

AUTHOR: LJohnson - (United States of America)

POSTED: Tuesday, April 10, 2012

I am currently going through a similar situation with this company. I was employed through DSU for a company in upstate NY. I put in my 2 weeks notice with the company and completed my time with them. I was supposed to receive my last check from them on March 22, 2012. This is when they were supposedly going through the transition of a new payroll company. I did not receive my check, I was told that it would be mailed out. I got it in the mail and deposited it into my checking account on April 2, 2012. Only to find out 3 days later that it was returned NSF. So I was charged the fee for that returned check. I have continued to call DSU and talk to Mr. Foster and Mr. Craft up until Friday April 6, 2012. My last conversation with Mr. Craft he stated that they would overnight my check and include the fee that I was charged. It is now Tuesday April 10, 2012 and still no check. I have tried to call the office and talk to anyone that I can but am always getting voicemail, no matter what extension that I have tried. I have also sent numerous emails to Mr. Craft requesting that he contact me to resolve this issue, and have gotten no response.
I am currently researching my options in this matter, any additional ideas would be greatly appreciated.

Good Luck to us all, As much as I do not like this situation, I at least feel as if I am not alone anymore in this quest for the issues being resolved.

It's kinda funny

AUTHOR: BKP - (United States of America)

POSTED: Monday, April 09, 2012

I find it kind of funny how everyone posts on my claim and have left your's alone. I mean that in the least sarcastic way, really. I hope that if there are more people out there in the same situation that they stick up for themselves and post it on this website. Still wishing you the best of luck.
