Get as far away from these guys as you can. I purchased an extended warranty for $189.00 on a 58" Samsung Plasma for a home theater. After 21 months it developed wide, horizontal discoloration bands that stretched across the entire screen, especially prominent during light backgrounds. I filed a claim.

DTVexpress requested screen shots e-mailed to them in order to evaluate the problem.  Based on THAT extensive examination (!) they refused the claim, citing what I now call their "Universal Escape Clause." Amazingly, it excludes:

"ANY IRREGULAR VIEWING QUALITY ISSUES DISPLAYED BY ANY TYPE OF TV including but not limited to blooming, strobing, judder, bluring, color shift, an imbalance of back lighting in one or more areas of the TV."

So, the question here folks, isn't what dtvexpress DOESN'T cover, but rather, what if anything they DO cover.  In my opinion, the above Escape Clause eliminates 99% of the reason an average person purchases an extended warranty in the first place: viewing abnormalities that occur during the life of the warranty.. [continued below]....

Don't make the same mistake I did:  be sure to read the fine print yourselves.  Since you don't receive an actual written warranty from them (rather just a receipt for one...) this will require due diligence in scouring the fine print on their website regarding EXCLUSIONS.  You'll have to look for it carefully, but the "Universal Escape Clause" is wedged in there with the fine print.

If you are seriously considering an extended warranty from DTVexpress.com, let me save you some time and hassle with an alternative suggestion:

Take the amount of the premium they will charge you - flush it - and you'll have essentially the same protection as if you had actually signed on with these folks. The upside, however, is that you won't have to go through the aggravation of watching them dodge your claim when the need for TV repairs arrives.
