MIKE MILLER- MANAGER

-REFER TO PANTHER MARKETING and see there gimmick
[Then type that into rip-offreport.com and see the exactness of MIKE]

So as a young hopeful in the new job world Im sending out resumes and going on interviews while my father helps me along my path to finding a job over the 2007 summer season, like any other parent would.

I get a great opportunity working for Dynasty Marketing (Focus Marketing) both are complete bullshit through CARREER BUILDERS. The offices are shitholes - GREAT NECK + SMITHTOWN so to speak considering the fact I work at a real sports agency interning in Manhattan. Im always looking for new opportunities and found this, a little closer to home.

This job was a nightmare on the first day- could of worn a bathing suite with no shirt on still landed a second interview.( DOES SPORTS INTEREST YOU? ) was my first question.....who the hell wouldn't answer yes to that. THAT'S ALL THEY WANT TO HEAR TO PASS.

Then what do I got to say about Mike Miller, but what a great guy he is. Scamming kids all across the Island with his flashy attitude saying "you can be just like me" in 8 months. Im 27 years old and I make so much money a day, but I can't pay you a salary like I ADVERTISED cause then I would have no money. Just go out into the "TERRITORIES" and make me tons of money selling shitty seats for Yankee games- like I want to see a KANSAS ROYALS game. Woeeeee big shot or fake vacation packages for the people that do work hard in this world so u can take their money. OR EVEN BETTER have your current employees commit illegal crimes in NO SOLICITATION ZONES while frightening employees with IMPULSE BUYING TACTICS so no business can report you MIKEY BOY.

SOMETHING I LEARNED THE HARD WAY THAT I HOPE YOU READ

WARNING SIGNS:

1st indication any college student should notice is a shitty office building with glue on signs of the advertising group. 2nd (BUTT OUGLY secretary in a sports office.)
3rd (SECOND INTERVIEWS followed by THIRD + NO PAY)
4th Door to Door illegal solicitations or cold calling
5th All co-workers are below 25 years old

Thanks dynasty for ruining 1 business day for me - (8 hours) & months of time for other college grads that will soon read this while working for you.

Sports Marketing International (SMI and Associates) is the Lombard, IL branch of this scam

AUTHOR: Legitimatecareers - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Friday, September 26, 2008

For those of you in the Chicagoland area, the Lombard branch is called Sports Marketing International or SMI and Associates. They will tell you they have "big wig" clients like the White Sox. This is NOT marketing. It is door-to-door dishonest soliciting. Dishonest to consumers and dishonest to their employees.

Please do not fall for their schemes! Sports Marketing International (SMI and Associates), and the like, prey on young, naive college graduates, servers, athletes. Sports Marketing International doesn't do a stitch of marketing consulting work for any sports teams (or any other place for that matter). This is straight up dishonest sales. If you are still working at SMI and Associates, I beg you to get out now!

Oh, and as an independant contractor (as that is how Sports Marketing International will "hire" you) you ARE required to file your sales on your taxes. The "manager" at this place (Greg) is encouraging employees at SMI and Associates to participate in illegal activities, such as soliciting in governmentally protected non-soliciting areas, and not file taxes. He is putting you in very illegal situations and manipulating you!

It is NOT normal to work long 10 hour days and no even be on the company's payroll. You are NOT your own manager (as the company tries to make you think you are), you have a sly, manipulative, fast-talking boss standing over your shoulder telling you you can't leave until you have sold all of your items!

Please, I beg you to NOT apply to this company, or anything affiliated with Doug Ascher, SmartCircle, SMI and Associates, or Sports Marketing International.

#1 UPDATE EX-employee responds

I Scam or Ripoff would include loosing something

AUTHOR: Kmile - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Wednesday, May 28, 2008

If you had been hired (and no they do not hire everyone) and bothered to stay with the company, maybe you would have learned more about businesses. You, know, how they work and such.

There really is not much for me to rebuttal with your comments. I used to work for smart circle, though not in the Long Island area. It is not a scam. You can make a ton of money opening a few offices. It happens to be a great business model, you just have to play your odds, be great at what you do, be persistent and work hard. They can teach you great people skills, which are important at any job, and a strong work ethic; a work ethic, i might add, that a lot of Americans lack. I learned a lot in a short timespan.

Why did I leave? Because making quick money was not as important as learning the career for which I went to college.

A lot of people can run a business, but not too many have what it takes to start their own. Just look at the corporate world. You have a few owners or founders, a couple presidents who are not the actual founders, a few vice presidents, even more managers and head of departments and then you have the worker bees. Most worker bees try hard to become at least VP, but I am sad to say not everyone makes it even that far.

Look, if you do not have an entrepreneurial spirit, you are right, smart circle is not for you.
