Bought a high price item on ebay and followed the ebay instruction to the letter,$2900.00.

After sending in payment as instructed and waiting for next day delivery notification (which never came), ebay service suport advised that the transaction did not go through them. They did, however, advise me that the seller had a deposit of $4,000.00 to prevent fraud. I am still holding the empty bag.

If this is the case, nobody needs to do business with e-bay.

I have been ripped off on EBAY as well

AUTHOR: Lori - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Monday, September 12, 2005

I have been ripped off on EBAY as well. In April 2005 I bought an advertised authentic Louis Vitton purse. The man who was selling was user ID number KRAYZIE! This person took a picture of a real Louis Vitton purse and said that this is the one that a person would be bidding on. When we won the bid, we paid the KRAYZIE! The bag that was sent was a FAKE!!! I had the fake bag verified at a Louis Vitton store. I notified EBAY. You know that EBAY does not care that fake merchandise is being sold on their website, all they care is that they make billions. I told EBAY about the fake but this KRAYZIE! sold another fake on 5/4/05, and 6/18/05. I AGREE with you, I think we all need to make a stand and make EBAY accountable for the fraud.

Why did the transaction not go through?

AUTHOR: Jason - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Monday, September 12, 2005

That's the question. If you attempted to pay on a credit card, and have never used Ebay before, occasionally the credit card companies themselves will block the transaction because they feel it is fraud.

Right now, all you have is the notification that your payment didn't go through. Check your balances, verify that it did not go through, and resubmit.

But hopefully you're not using escrow or western union.. If so, you're dealing with a scam.

E-bay

AUTHOR: Brenda - (U.S.A.)

I was wondering what you tried to buy on e-bay for that amount. I can't imagine spending that large of a sum of money on the internet.

My own rule is bid no more than I could stand to lose if it goes sour. I mostly buy books, have never spent more than $50, and never would. I never use credit cards or paypal on the internet, it is asking for trouble.

Online banking, what a joke. Talk about a potential for fraud.

I hope your situation is resolved in a positive manner for you.
