We wanted to start a classifieds type web site and did a lot of research to try to find something that would work for us. We came across e-Classifieds from Hagen Software, Inc. and decided to give it a try. We went with the version they call corporate and also elected to de-brand it for an extra charge. In total we spent $5,280.00 to finally get it up and running. After spending that kind of money we felt that we should get a pretty decent start.
Within the first week we had 20 support tickets placed to their support system and got no response to most of them. Over the course of 3 months our web site was down 30% of the time and we sent in over 100 support tickets. We tried to contact them to get some type of reimbursement and cancel their service and did not receive any response except them telling us to take them to court.
We finally figured out how to cancel the service through their customer support interface. It was canceled May of 2007 and we have the email to prove that it was canceled. On January of 2008 to our surprise we received another charge on our credit card for $2,280.00. We sent in another complaint to their billing department and again did not get any response. On February 6, 2008 we finally got someone on the phone from their sales department and told them about the charge. His response was "Take us to court. You will not get your money back and we have never lost a case.
At this point, it is not the money that is wrongfully charged that we are worried about. It is that this type of business is allowed to continue to operate. We live in a competitive service oriented country where happy satisfied customers are the most important piece to the American business model.
We have no room for companies like e-Classifieds and Hagen Software, Inc. and all I can pass on is "Do Not Do Business With This Company". !!
