These people contacted me by mail saying I was preapproved for this diamond status credit card with a $5,000 credit. So, I give them a call, and the person I talked with used wording to confuse me saying that I could get this card with the $5,000 limit for a fully refundable deposit of $200. I thought that I was getting a Visa or Mastercard from what the person on the phone said, but actually when I received the package from them it was some kind of shopping card with a $5000 limit that could only be used for purchases from their catalogs. After that I was a bit upset, so I gave them a call to ask about the misunderstanding. It turned out that the Visa or Mastercard I thought I was getting would only be issued to me upon several months of business with e-Credit. And I could only buy from their catalog with the new card. Anyway, I was a bit more pissed off then, because I was short $200 and had nothing to show for it but a worthless card and magazine that I had no interest in, so I requested a refund. This seemed perfectly alright because the letter I received with the package clearly stated that I could receive a full refund after I mailed the package back to e-Credit in Miami. Next I requested the refund and met with some hesitancy from the representative on the phone but I made my point and the person said that I would receive my refund after I called back in 10 days. So, I called back after the 10 days (which were never explained to me either) and the number had been disconnected, so I used another number--it was disconnected. Finally, I found a customer service number one of the representatives had given me a few weeks earlier, called it and spoke to a person who had no idea I was told to call back in the 10 days. I requested the refund, which the person tried to talk me out of, and the person told me to mail the package back to the Miami address and upon receit of the package my $200 would be direct deposited back into my account. Well, 10 days after I sent the package Priority Mail, no money was in my account so I called the customer service number again. An voice message answered with the message telling me that the customer service number was temporarily out of service and to send any inquiries in writing to the same address I sent the package too. It has now been over a month since I sent the package and have not received my money. I immensely hope that some litigation if applicable is brought against them because I feel that confusing people with words only to rip them off is a horrible thing to do and should not go unpunished.
