Surprisingly I actually won a reasonably valuable prize from McDonalds during the 2011 Monopoly game.   I won an EA Sports game of my choice with an estimated value of $60.  I received my information to claim the prize and then went to the Origin-Store.com to claim it.

I choose the game I wanted, ended up getting an expansion pack for the Wii Active so that both my wife and I could use the workout game at the same time.  This was rated at a value of $49 with shipping at ~$8 for a total of ~$57.  I entered the code supplied and sure enough my account was credited the amount of the game and shipping with a $0 balance.  So I placed the order and thought all was fine.  This was on Nov 1, 2011 and shortly afterwards I received a confirmation email that my order was received and in progress.

On Nov 4, 2011 I received another email that my order was canceled.  No other information at all was given but a link to where I could check on my order.  Followed the link and sure enough it said order canceled again no explanation as to why it was canceled.

So I contacted customer service through the chat option and they took 15 minutes to inform me that the order was canceled.  Which was a great help.  I spent another 30 minutes getting no help and absolutely no explanation WHY the order was canceled.

I then gave up and waited two days to reconnect with someone else at customer service.  I was quickly told that my issue was sent to the supervisor and I was to wait until I heard from them via email.
Two days later I received an email that I had not contacted them so they were going to close my case.
So I went to the claims page and informed them to keep the case open and to please resolve the issue.  Since then I have not heard from them again.  They will not respond to emails or the claim page for my complaint.

I would like to know how many of these prizes they ever actually awarded or if they just cancel them everytime.

Have you contacted the McDonalds people?

First are you sure the order was not canceled due to a stocking issue on the specific product you are looking to purchase?  Or had the offer expired?  That might be the issue.  Of course you would think a customer service supervisor would be able to tell you that.

More importantly if this was a winning McDonalds game piece perhaps you might want to get them involved?  I am sure McDonalds does not want the winning game pieces ignored.  That would reflect very poorly on them.
