I agreed to have Eagle Shield insulation product in my home on a trial basis with the understanding that if the product didn't live up to the hype of cooling my house down in the summer. They would cancel the service free of charge with no strings attached By their salesperson. I continually called the sales person after two months that my house was hotter than before. He said that he would cancel my contract but after last contact he had changed his cell number so there was no way of contacting the representative. The workmanship was also applied poorly. Which I took pictures of. I finally got a hold of the CEO of Eagle Shield Mr. Garrett Harwood. Explaining to him the situation that had occurred and I assured him that I did not want the product. Since then I've had to send a complaint to the Better Business Bureau but the situation has not been resolved. I have been informed by Eagle Shield that they have no motive to resolve this matter. I had no desire from the begining to purchase or have the product installed in my house but the salesman insisted that it would just be on a trial basis. With no obligation to buy. He gave a false pretense. The product does not work. Anthony Handy Modesto, California

My observations on eagle shield

AUTHOR: Mike B. - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Friday, June 26, 2009

I am a pest control professional that services Alameda and Contra Costa Counties. I am very frequently in attics in the middle of the day when temps can reach nearly unbelievable heights. Just 2 days ago I was at a clients home in Lafayette, Calif. and he had just had Eagle Shiled installed a month or so before.

It was a warm day at about noon and when I went into the attic I was truly amazed to find that the temperature in the attic was barely any warmer than in the living space of the house! The Eagle Shield was stapled to the roof rafters and not simply laying on the ceiling joists. I have no idea if this made any difference as to its effectiveness, but in my opinion, right there, the results were undeniable.

No, I don't work for the company and I don't know the owner who looks to live in the same city as me. Just an honest observation from your local pest control guy. I wish it wasn't so expensive to have installed or I'd have it done in my place. My best advice would be to closely monitor the installer to insure it is done to your expectations. I realize that the installers hate this, but it is your money and I'm sure they ALL would respect that. If not, get a different company to install it for you. Assume some responsibility for products being installed in your home and watch the installers closely. I guarantee you will be happy with the installation then. Happy Trails.................

Mike B.

Eagle Shield hasn't worked for me

AUTHOR: Petersn1 - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Monday, October 20, 2008

We met the Eagle Shield rep at a festival in our city. We scheduled an appoint for the presentation. The presentation was very conviencing and we purchased the product to be installed.
Its been approx. 3 years since we have had Eagle Shield "professionally" installed and we have had absolutely NO change to the summer tempature inside the house. This year we chose to install a house fan which is helping.

Eagle Shield doesnt' work.

Eagle Shield is an Energy Star Partner and has an Accredited BBB rating that is Excellent.

AUTHOR: Garrett Harwood - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Monday, July 14, 2008

Hi. I am the CEO of Eagle Shield Inc. Whoever is reading this deserves to have the facts and not be swayed by delusional individuals. I am writing this myself since YOU matter and YOUR OPINION matters greatly. We have installed over 150,000 homes with our High Performance Radiant Barrier Reflective Insulation and to date we have had only 4 BBB disputes which have all been resolved to BBB's satsifaction. If you do the %, that is an: .00002 % customer complaint factor. If you do the research on the top 100 companies to work for, you will see that we have a better satisfaction rate than companies such as: Southwest Airlines, Starbucks, Google, Disney, and Apple to just name a few. I an our fellow teammates are very proud of our company and the excellent ratings that the public has given us. I am extremely sorry we could not make this customer happy. Lord knows we tried. We even gave him his money back after it cost us thousands to do the job and deal with his unreasonable complaints. As far as his claim that the product does not work, all you have to do is look to the evidence to feel comfortable. Radiant Barrier is Title 24 Government Code for new construction. You can purchase it yourself at Home Depot, Lowes, Orchard Supply, ect. It was designed and used on a 2 billion dollar space shuttle to protect astronauts and craft from 250 degrees above zero ( 38 degrees above boiling ) to -460 degrees below zero ( -492 degrees below zero! ) It is used by the fire departments as their emergency space blankets. You use it by putting it in the windshield of your car to keep the heat out. You use it in ice coolers and thermos bottles. It was recently featured on the History Channel and Discover Channel titled under: "Marvels Of Insulation"! The product not only works, it is by far the best insulation you can get for the money. Mr Handy has only one issue that we could not solve. In his mind he thinks that this insulation is supposed to be air conditioning which makes things cooler instead of what it does, It manages the environment to keep heat out. Since he lives in Manteca where it gets way over 110 degrees in the summer regularly, even with our product changing his temperature in his home 10 degrees, he will still need to run his air for a while, although certainly for not as long. That was not acceptable to Mr Handy who felt that once he put it in he should NEVER have to run his air again. I am sure that all reasonable thinking people would read between the lines and know the truth. Add to that, that we have The Space Foundation Certified Seal and we are an Energy Star Partner should show that we are very credible and ethical. I pray that this gentlemans complaint will not sway you from seeing the facts and inspecting the truth yourself. You can see the video at www.eagleshield.com... Thank you for investing your valuable time perusing this.
God Bless,
Garrett Harwood

Hard to Believe This Consumer

AUTHOR: Contractor Guy - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Monday, October 29, 2007

I have been associated with Eagle Shield for over a year. Eagle Shield has installed literally thousands of insulation jobs with High Performance Radiant Barrier with almost no complaints whatsoever. The claim the product does not work is false. Eagle Shield is tested and proven technology from: NASA (Eagle Shield is the ONLY NASA recommended insulation and radiant barrier), Texas A&M University, Tennessee Valley Authority, U.S. Dept. of Energy, U.S Dept. of Defense, Florida Solar Energy Center, ASTM, ASHRAE, Oakridge Labs... the list is exhaustive. Especially in a hot climate like Modesto. Its also hard to believe that with Claifornia contracting laws, the buyer did not read the contract and accepted the "word" of a salesperson? Eagle Shield provides a 3 year Guarantee of Satisfaction. Three years because it takes an average of heating and cooling seasons to realize the effect of upgraded insualtion in a home. So if this buyer had Eagle Shield installed in May (A very nice month in California) and is saying it was "HOTTER" in July, well yes, the temperatures ARE hotter in July. But compare the home to the previous July's or the next two July's. Home improvements, whether they are windows, siding, roofing, insulation, etc. are NEVER sold on a trial basis. And California has some of the strictest consumer protection laws in the country. No one twisted this man's arm to buy. And its unreasonable for him to make such demands.
