About a year or so ago, I went to an interview in Scottsdale across the street from the Scottsdale Mall. I cant remember the exact name of the company, but I remember it was on the third floor right on the corner on a major intersection. When I go in the secretary has me sign in and have a seat in the waiting area. Other people are waiting also. After waiting a long time, a young guy finally comes out and directs me into his office for the interview. After interviewing with him for a few short minutes, he has me go wait back in the waiting area with the other interviewees. A while later, after everyone has been interviewed, he comes out and gives a spiel about marketing. He has us squeeze around a small table in the room where he shows us some magazines on cutlery, and then passes around his own knife as an example of its superiority. He suggest we invest our own money, say $300.00, to purchase this cutlery set to use it to market it beginning with our own relatives. He tells us to stay for a second interview before returning to his own office. One at a time, each person returns to his office for the interview. It seems we are waiting for a long time. Im the second to last to be re-interviewed. Im scared because I have a strong suspicion this is a scam; so before its my turn, I get up and leave.

Cut to a year or so later and once again I find myself unemployed. They see my resume and call me and ask me to come in. The secretary, Heather, seems very anxious to get me to come in and sets up and interview for me for the next day. Meanwhile, my mom calls me telling me about how this letter she got in the mail told her she won a million dollars. I help her figure out its not real, just a scam to sell magazines; which helps me remember this place is located near the same place I went to last time that tried to rip me off. I check it out, and sure enough its the same exact place, just with a fancier name. Thanks to you guys for helping me figure this out before I waste another day and a tank of gas going out there!

Wrong Company

You have East Valley Consulting mixed up with a company called Vector Marketing. They are the marketing firm that sells cutlery! I would stay away from Vector Marketing too......I had the same experience with them.

When I interviewed with East Valley Consulting they were very professional and had nothing to do with selling knives, I even accepted a position there to make sure. East Valley Consulting works with a company affiliated with Staples Office Supplies.

Why would a billion dollar company like Staples work with another company if it was a scam? East Valley Consulting has a good brand and they answered every question I had honestly. I would recommend checking them out for yourself and creating your own opinion after that.
