Hello,

This report is to inform you to stay away from Eastern's! A while ago my car went up, so needing it for my job and not having good credit, I decided that me and my father should go to Eastern's Motors. What a waste of time that was.

When we got there we were greeted by Robert Stephens, who at first seemed very friendly. The fact that they had "23 lenders" made me pretty confident I would get the financing I needed. Sitting down with him at his desk, we filled my information in his computer system. I constantly had to correct him on his spelling and typing errors but eventually gave up because I didn't want to keep bothering him.

That was only the first of many red flags. As we continued along, he told me he would try to get me the best deal, which at the time was really avoiding my Dad being a co-signer. After getting my information he "submitted" my information to the "banks."

Returning moments later, he of course had bad news. "The bank didn't approve you, but if your Father puts down 1500, we can put him in something today." Umm, okay, thought *I* needed a car but whatever. So I ask him. "So what would it take to get my name on the car?"

He tells me that not only would my Dad have to put down 1500 for me to be on the paperwork, but my my father would have to also trade in one of HIS vehicles. What kind of BS is that!?

So I ask him. "You said you had a lot of lenders, can we try another bank?" He pauses for a second and then tells me that "banks don't like it when you shop around." He also went on to tell me that by doing that the other banks will view this as a "red flag" and be more weary of lending to me. Huh. Didn't realize that as a customer I didn't have any rights. Strange. Even stranger was the fact that people with "bankruptcy's" could be approved but I couldn't.

So after listening to this slime ball babble on a bit longer, I got fed up and I walked out. Pissed naturally. Not only did he try to scam me like that but he was also rude, constantly talking over top me, avoiding my questions and acting like I was yelling at him, when all I was doing was trying to cut through his bullshit.

My credit score is terrible, it's below 600. My income isn't great but my Dad was willing to put 1500 down. Strangely enough, I did end up getting a car. A 2010 Honda Civic. While it's true that it was "in-house" financing, I don't see how the hell Robert says "I don't have a choice" yet I can walk in to another dealer and get a brand new car with only a 1500 deposit. Granted, my payment is through the roof (450 a month with warranty) but I knew I was going to pay more because of my situation.

To sum it up, you get what you THINK you deserve. I don't care how bad your credit is. ANYONE can do better than Eastern's.
