My 2007 Volvo's Extended EasyCare Warranty is about to expire.

I received a letter offering to renew their  extended warranty, so I called them and talked to them.

I asked them to send me an email explaining - in detail - the price of the extended warranty renewal, for 36 months, and for 24 months, respectively.

The numbers I received were shocking:

$ 7,500 for 36 months, and $ 5,400 for 24 months.

That is crazy. It is as if I were to buy a Life Insurance Policy for One Million Dollars, and the policy would cost me One Million Dollars!

Why would I bother, then, with an Insurance company?
