Easysoft Locked my computer. Pretended to be Microsoft Tech person. Made me scan a check for $199.99 so they could unlock my computer. Said my computer was hacked and a worm virus was slowly infecting my entire computer network. Internet

My computer was Locked and a message came up perporting to be from Microsoft.  Itt said my computer was hacked and that they were Microsoft technical support. They would remove the virus on my computer for $199.99.  I had to write a check to Easy Soft for $199.99 and scan it on both sides (back had to be signed by me also).  Said that in 1 hour their technicans would have the virus removed.

They showed me that they had access to all the personal information on me and my computer to prove that they were Microsoft (ie date of PC purchase, my address etc). 

I was 'over a barrel' because my computer was locked to any keystroke -totally unuseable, so I was at their mercy.  I scanned my check.  An hour later my computer was back to normal.
