This is a summary of the transaction:

I wanted 2 sell 2 pairs Edward Green men's shoes on ebay.com in October, 2014. Offer from Mike Seidel for $500 both pairs. Shoes were bought in England and I used a size conversion chart which turned out to be wrong. I did however say this on posting as well as include the size of the inside sole toe to heel in both cm and inches. An e-mail was also sent to Mr Seidel advising him to be sure to check the size. He paid $500 using PaypaI. Mr Seidel informs ebay the shoes were too small. I replied I would refund his money when I got the shoes back. I called Ebay & confirmed no refund w/o contacting me that I got the shoes.  Mr Seidel sent a package that contained only a pair of old pants. Ebay saw the shipment Mr Seidel to me and refunded $500 without contacting me. I still had to pay ebay & paypal about $200 over the refunded amount of $500 (no shoes) for a total loss of $700. This all due to loophole in ebay policy. "Legal" theft.

To resolve the problem, I would like the following to take place:

A refund for the 2 pair of Edward Green shoes (M. Seidel paid $250/pr or $500) or the shoes returned in the pristine condition they were in when Mr Seidel purchased and received them from me.  I also want a refund of about $200 I had to pay as fees to ebay and paypal for a transaction where I was left with no merchandise but still had to pay the fees for it. I would like to see ebay change their policy and in the future, verify in writing with the seller that merchandise being returned to the seller is indeed the merchandise that was sent. Ebay says they don’t have the time and only verify that a shipment was made. This leaves a big loophole for dishonest people to send something, keep the merchandise and get their money back. There are a ton of simliar complaints on this website about ebay.  They created this loophole and it is up to them to close it.  I don't know whether any of my letters, phone calls or complaints have gotten through to anyone at ebay that can do something about this.
