I have never dealt with anything like this in my life. I have been selling products on the internet for over 15 years, but this takes the cake. As a seller on ebay, I was selling software to customers and everything was fine.

All of a sudden, ebay informs me that the software is not real. I assured them that it was genuine and had the receipts to prove it. They didn't care. They suspended my account, leaving countless customers without the products that they had ordered.

If that wasn't bad enough, they sent a letter to each customer, telling them to file a claim to get there money back. This was just unreal, but not the worst.

Today, I look at my bank account and they took $2,300 out of my account without authorization. Needless to say, I was very upset and called the back to get the money back.

I have never been ripped off so bad in my life and will never do business with ebay or Pay Pal witch by the way are the same company.

There are actually a lot more complaints of people receiving items and paypal not issuing a refund as long as an item was shipped as described, and the seller provides proof of shipment. The seller merely has to prove they shipped an order. The burden actually lies on the buyer if they dispute a transaction.

The receipts you have may not prove the software is legit, it only proves you purchased software. "Assuring" them is not enough..either the software is proven genuine, or not.

What evidence did the buyers present in order to win this dispute? It is known that paypal will offer to issue refunds to every buyer if there are enough complaints and proof of fraud. Don't you think it is fair to the buyers if they were sold software that is not genuine to be refunded..even if the seller was unaware it was not genuine?

I am not accusing you of any intentional fraud so don't get me wrong. But I have been dealing with paypal long enough to know that although they are far from perfect, they do investigate before issuing refunds to buyers.

Their policy is straight forward...before they decide to settle a dispute, you should have been contacted from a buyer or buyers with a chance to deal with this directly first. Were you able to provide 100% positive proof the software was legit before you lost this dispute?

If any item is not authentic but was declared as such in the listing, or any item that is fake or a pirated copy will certainly qualify for a refund issued from your account. If you can honestly prove the software is authentic, I can not understand how this dispute was escalated to the level of refunding so many buyers.

You are correct that ebay and Paypal are the same company...well eBay purchased PayPal some time ago...but this has little to do with whether or not the software was authentic. You state in the report that "all of a sudden" eBay informed you the software is not real. Well how would eBay know? It is the buyers that complained to eBay and triggered an investigation..Ebay or PayPal don't check the authenticity of software suddenly or randomly before it arrives to the buyers. The software is sent from you directly to the buyers..eBay does not inspect it first.
