So, I am fairly new to selling on Ebay. I've been a member since 2001. Recently, I was selling 2 couches, hockey tickets, some coins, and an elliptical machine. Nothing was outrageously priced and I described all items honestly. Its not like anything had much, if any, wear on it anyway.

As Im selling, I randomly check back to see if there are any new bids or watchers. All of a sudden, I try and refresh my screen and I get a message..."My account has been suspneded because I abused the User Agreement Policy". Naturally I thought this was some system error. Needless to say, it wasnt.

I've tried contacting SafeHarbor numerous times. All I get from them, when they do actually respond, are smoke and mirror answers. SaferHarbor is a joke in itself. I did get an email saying...."You need to fax us a copy of your drivers license, copy of a utility bill, and proof that I bought evrything I was selling". Oh yah, all 15 of my auctions, with bids, were closed when I got suspended.

I faxed what they had requested 2 days after I got suspended. Its been 2 weeks now. But, they have not given me an answer as to why I was suspended. I guess Im guilty until proven innocent!!!! I dont even know what I did or didnt do!!!!

On top of that, they suspended my father's account for having an "association" with my account. How the heck can they validate that!?! Obviously that dont care about customer service and know they can do whatever they want. And they do!!!!

I thought Ebay was a great idea. I still do. But, they have a alot of fine tuning to do on their end. I have a funny feeling nothing will change. Why would it!?! That company racks in huge amounts of money no matter what Ebay users go through.

Im going to send a letter to the CEO about this. Not like she will probably read it. But, who knows.

anti-Ebay auction site that will be geared 100% to the customers

AUTHOR: Alex - (U.S.A.)

Im with you Steve

Like I said in my previous post. I know there are thousands of people out the who feel like the 3 of us do. If I could get some people together and get our brains working, I would be all for starting an anti-Ebay auction site that will be geared 100% to the customers.

Not Hockey Tickets

AUTHOR: Alex - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Wednesday, January 18, 2006

I know about selling tickets. When you list tickets on Ebay, you have type in the face value of them. I also took pics of them close-up and posted them on the listing. I was actually asking for $5 less than face for each or make an offer. So I was selling them cheaper than face value. So I know its not the tickets.

For some reason, I think they think I was selling stolen goods. Thats the only thing that makes sense to me. But how can someone assume you are selling stolen goods. I have no clue as to what is going on!!!!

Mike, you hit it right on the head here!

Ebay has absolutely ZERO customer service.

There is absolutely no reason that a company as big as Ebay cannot provide some level of live customer service.

And, they bend you over twice, because they own PayPal!

That canned, generic autoreply you get to your "customer service" inquiries are ridiculous and aggravating to say the least.

I'm waiting for someone to launch a real auction site, with REAL LIVE customer service. I would even pay more for better service. And I'm sure that I am not alone.

Nothing left to do

I agree 100% with you. I wish there was something we could do to Ebay. But I dont think we can. Ebay is a corporation that has the power to impose any rules it wants on its customers. Good or bad, you either have to suck it up or stop using Ebay. Ive decided to stop using it. I will not give any more of my money to such a greedy and twisted company.
I just wish everyone that has gotten screwed by Ebay get together to try and do something. Even if its starting an Ebay like website to try and compete with Ebay. After all, there is power in numbers.

Hockey tickets

AUTHOR: Rita - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Wednesday, January 18, 2006

Were you asking for more than the face value on those hockey tickets? My guess is (and I could be wrong) that your suspension had something to do with selling tickets and by law, you can't ask for more than face value.

At any rate, I have a feeling that the answers rest with the tickets you were trying to sell and nothing else.

Good luck in clearing this up.

the only thing ebay is good for is that they are good for NOTHING!!!!!

AUTHOR: Mike - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Tuesday, January 17, 2006

I have a saying:"a place of business is as good as its customer service",let me tell you, when it comes to ebay,it dont take an albert einstein to figure out how screwed up it really is,until you have a problem OR report a problem (or two),you can get a "birdseye"view of what ebay is REALLY all about, its like they target you and act upon it whether its something like you described or other "petty s**t" they pull, but I could not agree with you more and further more I think ebay needs to get its friggin head out of its a*s and start treating customers with respect and good customer service, not some d**n "computer generated " message that they have "acknowledge" your problem and will "supposedly "investigate it,its funny how they waste NO TIME when the seller fees become due, thats the ONLY time these assholes give a lightning fast response, there ought to be a class action lawsuit on these GEEKY-ASSED BASTARDS!!!!!
