Last week Ebay suspended sellers accounts for what they called poor performance ratings. In investigating found many many sellers with much worse violations still being allowed to sell.In trying to cancel my accounts, given this suspension and I no longer care to associate with them, they will not allow me to.I feel this is a violation of my civil rights to have to be counted as a member of Ebay to boost their corporate numbers or for whatever reason they are not allowing me my right to close my accounts.

..however..lets look at this from a business 101 standpoint.

How does eBay make money? Lets be clear..they are a BUSINESS..they are not a government agency..they are NOT a bank...they do NOT receive tarps funds or taxpayer bailouts if they screw up...so, what is it they do?

Simple....they are nothing but a website..that people can use to buy and sell items..and they have certain terms and conditions that like ANY BUSINESS..they use to protect their best interests. Using eBay is NOT a constitutional right..but a privilege..

Now with that said...how do they make money? They make money by collecting fees from SELLERS...they do NOT charge the buyers a RED cent. So if ANYONE chooses to use eBAY to sell anything, the ONLY thing eBay requires..is to abide by their terms, conditions and policies which are put in place SPECIFICALLY, to protect THEMSELVES..as their right to prosper as a business..which the SOLE purpose of ANY business..is to profit. EVERY single user of eBay is subject to the SAME exact terms, conditions and policies. I can not see how they would have the manpower to individually discriminate one account user from the other based on ANYTHING but performance and adherence to the terms.

So..since it is apparent they NEED sellers to profit...why in any logical thinking , would they suspend a seller? The ONLY logical reason..since they stand to not make a DIME by suspending a seller...is that the seller must somehow present a RISK to the business.

I mean when you open an account to sell on eBay..do they take finger prints? Do they request a urine sample or a drug test? Do they ask for any DNA analysis? Do they ask to see a green card or photo ID? Criminal records? They did not ask me for any of that and I have been using them for years with no problems.

So, if you can explain to us, how eBay is in any way profiting by suspending you..the report may have some merit. Otherwise we can only conclude no matter how much you complain..that eBay simply made a BUSINESS decision to protect their best interests, and may in all logic, have a valid reason. They've concluded they can do better without you as a seller. I don't think there is anything a complaint website can do to change that fact.
