Hello

I am an eBay seller - have been for some months now. Recently eBay called my home with an offer - Free Store for 30 days and then $9.95 per month after that. This was the beginning of December.

On January 12th they emailed all the sellers and informed us that:

Our Store monthly fee would be going from 9.95 per month to $15.95 per month. Auction final value fees would be going from 5.25% to 8%. Gallery fees and other listing fees would also be increasing.

My beef with them is the store fees. If they telemarketed me with a certain cost, should they not be made to HONOR that cost - and is that not a telemarketing scam?

Their response when I called was that there was no way they were going to honor the 9.95 fee. When I told them I would have to close my store they said "You have to do what you feel is right."

They sold me a product and then hiked the rates - in my eyes thats a telemarketing scam and they need to be fined for that. I thought about listing under the BBB, but they are members so it would not do any good. That is why I am here. Hope you guys can help!

Ebay is a Monopoly!

AUTHOR: Mel - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Thursday, January 20, 2005

Sad to say I am one seller that is moving slowly over to overstock.com or elsewhere. Ebay has gone too far this time. They dont want anyone to make any money but themselves.

I had to laugh when I noticed the stock drop. It will kick them in the butt sooner or latter. They cant bite that hand that feeds them forever.

Cost To High

AUTHOR: Lester - (U.S.A.)

I Know How You Feel About There Cost Going Up.
I'm Not Making any Money As it is. And With These Cost, I Can't Aford To Keep My Store.
Not Many Go To My Store Anyway. I Guess You Have To Cheat Ebay By List For .99 And Charge The Price Of The Item In The shipping. So The Rest Of Us Who Play By The Rules Have To Pay For It. I'm Looking in to Selling At A Flea Market or I Here Overstock.com Or Someone Has A Site Like Ebay. I Here Ebay Stock Drop A Lot On This Prices All Going Up. Where Are The bargins.
These Cost Will Hurt Us All. Buyers and Sellers
