Very naively I purchased what I expected to be a pair of short chestnut Ugg boots style 5825 from www.ebayboots.com for 56.72 as the advert was on ebay i thought this would be safe however I have now found out it is just a link to another independent site and nothing todo with ebay.

Never owning a pair of Uggs before when I received them they were too small and was later to be informed that these were fakes as real Uggs come up bigger in size and on comparison they also differed in style and colour as well as shape. Not like the photos displayed on website at all.

After alot of investigations I managed to track down which happens to be in China didn't say that on site! and contact company involved and told them of my concerns and they apologised and said they were not sure how this could have happened but told me to send boots back to them recorded delivery and they would gladly refund, which I did for an extra cost of 17.70.

However they have now signed for boots and will not refund or contact me so have my boots and money! trading standards, consumer advice, CAB, Customs, Chinese embassy all cant help me say what they are doing is ok.

I know I have lost my money but want to warn others that internet sellers can look as if they are British traders and have photos of real ugg boots but send you through items that are counterfeit and look nothing like product being advertised on website and as a consumer we are not protected, even though I paid through paypal you are not covered.

if I can help save one other person from making same mistake as I have I will feel happier, I have kept all correspondence to and from company if needed.

AUTHOR: Fuggman - (United Kingdom)

POSTED: Saturday, October 10, 2009

I was contacted by Trading Standards after all my complaints and they asked if it would be ok to pass my details onto an Ugg legal representative which I agreed to.

I was contacted by an Ugg representative and asked to send the photos I had taken of the boots to them for examination, on receipt she confirmed that the boots were counterfeit and wrote me a two page letter confirming this and told me to contact paypal.

I did and still to no avail they said that my case in the resolution centre was now closed and no more could be done.

However one evening i was trawling through the Paypal pages I clicked on each separate item one by one and accidently came accross a Media Page on the paypal site this has information of a number and email address in Luxembourg I sent Pay pay an email explaining my case would not be reopened and I had proof that the items purchased were indeed counterfeit.

I received an email back stating that because the goods were not purchased off of ebay directly there was nothing they could do.

I sent a last email thanking them for their help and that I would forward their email to the Ugg legal representative that had written my letter.

I then received an email asking me to fax the letter accross to them which I did and they then sent me an affidavit to sign to confirm I was no longer in possession of Boots, which was signed and sent back to them.

I received full refund 72 hours after faxing item back to them.

My message is to keep on and persevere I nearly gave up a few times because it was made so difficult for me but this has been a real learning process a word of advice if you get refund empty funds of Paypal account into your usual bank account asap as Paypal can get it back out, read about that on this learning journey too but thats another story!

Good Luck
