Ecmc Tom PeabodyPerformant Recovery Inc double billing for loan already being handled by SSA Federal offset Livermore California

Today, September 27,2013, I received a bill for $6315.58 from Performant Recovery Inc formerly know as Diversified Collection Services.

I called and talked to Tom Peabody to let him know that the payments are already being taken out of Pat's social security check.  He sounded like he didn't believe me and asked to fax copies of retain records, which I will do later today.

Tom said that they received this bill from Educational Credit Management Corp and they go over the collections to make sure that they are still delincant and would not ask for the help collecting the debt if another organization is collecting it.

He gave me a phone number for ECMC which I called and got a recording that just sent me back to Tom Peabody.

Tom suggested the possibility of more than one loan and the SS is collecting one and he is to collect the other one.  I assured him that there were only one loan.  Tom said that he was going to send a paper for me to fill out that would combine payments.  I again assured him that there was only one loan.
