After reading what seems like a true acount of an individual (hugh) who didn't have the greatest experience with Ecoquest, and the mudslinging remarks and what seems like exaggerated, hyped up, public relations for Ecoquest, I have requested a refund for my dealer membership or whatever it is I purchased last week. Even though I know they don't give refunds, the report left here simply leaves a bad taste in my mouth for both parties. I feel very sad for Hugh, but even sadder for a Christian based company that can't resist mudslinging. I decided there has got to be something better and I have committed to praying for the company and it's representatives. I have an uncanny feeling that I am not missing out on anything. I bet I'm one of the lucky ones. God's blessings.

P.S. I also don't feel good about having to spend 2,495 for the success pack without at least a garanteed refund if I am unhappy. The unit also seems a bit pricy individually as well.

In Regards to the Eco Quest Air Purifier

AUTHOR: Carol - (United States)

POSTED: Sunday, December 20, 2020

I am writing in response to a lot of complaints from consumers in regards to the Eco Quest, as well as those from Distributors.  I just wanted to add a bit of positivity to these conversations.  I have have an Eco Quest Purifier for the last 15 years and still have one in my home running constantly.  I originally was given one as a gift from my father and I totally was satisfied with it.  I had absolutely no problems of any kind with it, while it was running and no problems with the machine's operations.

I was blessed with 4 Auistic grandchildren, and over a period of time, they all developed really bad Summer and Fall allergies.  They came to my home every weekend for an overnight stay and started having breathing problems because of their allergies.  I turned on my Eco Quest and within a couple of hours, their were free of sneezing & their noses cleared up and their eyes quit watering.  I ended up giving them my machine, and even though I was sorry about loosing it, I knew they wouldn't have to suffer with allergies that I did not have.

Soon after, I went to an estate sale, where the people running it did not know the treasure they had in their sale.  It did not have a price on it, and knowing what it was, I inquiring what they wanted for it.  The gal told me she'd take $10.00.  I paid it immediately and was so excited about getting it.  It came with another Ionizer replacement plate and it worked well.    I still have it, and upon moving into a home where the owners were both smokers for years it took exactly 3 days for me to rid the home of the horrible smell of smoke.  Everyone remarked how much better my home smelled then when they first came into the home.  I have never had any problems with breathing, as long as I kept it set as instructed in the manual.  If I felt I needed to sanitize my home, I would put it on the Sanitize setting and leave home for a while.  When I arrived home, I then turned the settings down.   My grandchildren have never had any problems with theirs, and their parents keep it on constantly.

I have nother but wonderful things to say about my ironizer and when I heard that the Pentagon used them there, when they caught fire from the attack they suffered on 911, I was sold.  Thanks for letting me have my say about this, but I just couldn't let it go by, without telling you about my positive experience with this wonderful machine.  If I see something works well for me, I am glad to pass it to all of my friends!!!  It's all in how you keep your settings.  If you turn it up too high, I am sure you could have some negative experiences.  I'm not a chemist, nor do I know about all the history of Ionizers, but I hate to see a company get such bad reviews, when mine experience has been so positive.

fresh air everest ozone?

AUTHOR: Elizabeth - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Saturday, July 11, 2009

I have appreciated reading everyones comments about the Ecoquest air purifiers. I still have one important question. Does anyone know for sure-100% if the model Fresh Air Everest produces ozone or not. I have read that it does not but I would like to know for sure. I have a child with bad allergies and I have had one in her room and it has not made a difference. In fact her allergies are worse.

I am very concerned about the ozone because like one of the ladies mentioned I am sure this was the cause of my sons sudden onset of asthma a few years ago. We purchased 2 of the Alpine air machines(the co. that Ecoquest bought I learned from someone here) from a woman and she actually told us that they put out ozone and that it was good for you to breathe. We put one in my sons room. He developed Asthma out of the blue. We searched and searched to try to figure out why he was so sick. After a while it stopped as suddenly as it started. In the meantime we had gotten rid of the machines. It was not until later that we learned ozone was not good to breathe and we finally figured it out. I am sure that it was the ozone that made him sick and I do not want to take a chance on exposing my daughter now that I know.

We were given a Ecoquest Fresh Air Everest to try and the sales person said specifically asked the rep. if it produced ozone and he said no but after reading all of the different comments about the co. and machines I do not know if it is true. Is this a new model that has been changed? Do I trust the co.? I have a handout from the allergist that says " Ionizing models that are also electrostatic precipitators add an oppositely charged plate to attract particles. Ozone is produced as a by product when high voltage near charging wires converts oxygen to ozone." Anyone know if this is how these machines work?

Anyone know about ozone and the Oreck air purifiers? It is so hard to know whether to trust these companies about this.

Wow...this is amazing!!!

AUTHOR: Craig - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Monday, April 13, 2009

I would like to inject something here. If you turn up the furnace in your 1000 sqf appartment too high, does it get too hot? If you turn up the purification setting on your Fresh Air purifier too high, does it give off too much purification? This is not a toy, it is a powerful product! YIKES!

Something about ozone. Ozone is O3, that's O2 with an extra oxygen atom added to it. O3 molecule becomes very unstable and wants to get rid of the extra oxygen atom. When the O3 molecule bumps into something it releases the extra oxygen atom thus oxidizing it. What do we know about oxidation? Hmmmm...it cleans! Oxidation in the world is vital to our survival. Without it, we would all be dead. Ozone is extremely prevalent outdoors. Ozone cleans up the containments in the air that we all put there. These same contaminants can be found in our homes, this is why we like opening our windows and letting the "Fresh Air" into our homes.

Now back to the furnace example. Is too much heat good for us? Is too much water good for us? Is too much food good for us? Is too much ozone good for us? NO! Moderation is the answer people. I submit to you we cannot live without any of this, but too much is not good either.

When an 8 year old girl is off her allergy medicine she took every day for 3 years, when a retired banker with asthma claims it feels like 1000 pounds has come off his chest, when a video store owner made the claim to me that I save her life because she can get relief from her allergies and her husband told me the product is worth twice as much money, when a COPD sufferer can't wait to get in his home because he breaths so much easier, when a father tells me his girls will come to visit him now because his home doesn't smell like diesel fuel any longer, and he has tears in his eyes as he's telling me this, when parents of two very active sons in sports say they have rid their boys rooms of odors, when a couple who are extremely allergic to cats can visit their friends home now, where they have cats, and not suffer at all from their visit, when a farmer sleeps with his wife and doesn't snore any longer, when sickness in a home of 2 parents and 4 children has been reduced to almost nill when prior years it was a revolving door for sicknesses...and many, many more examples can be given...I WILL DO EVERYTHING I CAN TO HELP AS MANY PEOPLE AS POSSIBLE WITH ECOQUEST PRODUCTS!

Christianity is about giving, helping, providing, and loving. I have never been part of a more Christian environment.

Regardine EcoQuest, and comments by Courtney

AUTHOR: Lorraine - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Tuesday, February 24, 2009

I have been an EcoQuest distributor for several years. I believed everything the company said in seminars and conferences. I believed their printed literature. It has been less than two weeks since I began to see complaints about EcoQuest products and the company. Honestly, it never occured to me to search the Internet for complaints.

I **did** start to search the Internet on Feb. 9th, 2009, in an attempt to find relief from my allergy and/or asthma. I have been sick for over six months. I attributed it to an allergy to a cat I adopted in August 2008. Allergy remedies did not alleviate my suffering. Eye drops did not relieve the itchy, burning eyes. I had an expensive allergy test that indicated I had no allergies!!

I've documented my search for an answer on my "blog": http://LorraineFrantzEdwards.blogspot.com . I started my search with the word "asthma" and read many sites, and connecting links. Somewhere in the process I saw the three words ASTHMA AND OZONE. It was my "eureka" moment because I instantaneously "knew" that was the answer. I had two EcoQuest air purification units cranked up to 3000 square feet (in a 1000 square feet apartment). Furthermore, when I left my apartment I wore an EcoQuest Fresh Air "Buddy" Personal Air Purifier on a cord around my neck. (Actually, I was so sick I rarely left the apartment!!) Because of winter weather, the windows were never open, and the door rarely stood open.

I was shocked by all the web sites with information about the health hazards of ozone. I had believed ozone was good for someone suffering from allergies and asthma. I sold many units to customers (with allergies & asthma) using language and messages from EcoQuest. The sicker I got (from allergies and/or asthma??) the more I depended on the EcoQuest "air purification" units to control the impurities left by the cat.

I documented my findings on my "blog": http://LorraineFrantzEdwards.blogspot.com . I encourage the reader to visit my "blog" because I can't begin to explain everything in this message. Recently I consolidated the research into one document (eleven printed pages) and the reader can click on the link "Indoor Ozone Poisoning from EcoQuest Ozone Generators" on my Feb. 23, 2009 "blog". In one location, the viewer can read excerpts from dozen of articles, and click "links" to valuable resources.

I want to warn consumers. If I, as a distributor, was misled by EcoQuest advertising, HOW MANY CUSTOMERS HAVE SUFFERED ?? There's an expression: "Caveat Emptor" which means "buyer beware." I think Courtney was wise to back away from the situation. Having said that, I have been a faithful spokeswoman for EcoQuest!! I've never been a top salesperson but I believed in the products and "talked them up." Which makes it all the more SAD that I became a victim.

AUTHOR: Donna - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Sunday, November 23, 2008

Ecoquest is one of the finest companies around. 20+ years and growing.
Excellent products and not to be matched training.
I do wonder however if you had started a brick and mortor business and invested $2000 would you be able to get your monies returned if your product didn't sell?
Would you also be able to go on line 24/7 and have up to the moment training?
Would you be doing business all over the world with the stroke of a key?

This company is changing the way people live their lives for the better.
Cleaner air and water. Savings on power bills. A way to move out of the pay check to pay check lifestyle.
Yet you are correct.. it is a rip off for the lazy person. It is a business, and like all business it does take work!
Not a get rich scheme. Work with great rewards.
I do wish you great success in all that you do.

Information about ozone

AUTHOR: Steve - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Thursday, June 07, 2007

I work for a company that is considering selling ozone generators as air cleaners. Accordingly, I have done considerable research about ozone, ozone generators, and their effectiveness and effects upon public safety. So far, what I have found indicates that ozone generators should not be sold as air cleaners due to their questionable effectiveness and their high potential to harm peoples' health. Of course, there has already been much discussion along these lines so I'll just offer some information that may be helpful to other consumers.

Background information about ozone: (((ROR REDACTED LINK FOR SECURITY PURPOSES)))

John mentioned, "The chemical symbol is CO3. The air we breathe is CO2..." Ozone is actually O3, not CO3. And, the oxygen that we breathe is not CO2--it is O2. CO2 is carbon dioxide, which is what we breathe out as a result of our metabolism. "The bends" is a sickness due to nitrogen (N2) bubbles forming in our blood (see: (((ROR REDACTED LINK FOR SECURITY PURPOSES))). And, mustard gas is not synthesized from the condiment mustard (see: (((ROR REDACTED LINK FOR SECURITY PURPOSES)))

Although O3 consists of the element oxygen, oxygen gas (O2) and ozone (O3) are not the same. Both O2 and O3 are both oxidizers but O3 is a much stronger oxidizer--so much so that it will react with our eyes and lungs. Chlorine gas is also a strong oxidizer, which produces similar effects to our eyes and lungs.

Arthur mentioned, "...you should be out protesting people that drink water too, cuz it can kill you, ozone can't." Many people make the same claim that ozone is harmless. However, I should direct you to the a CDC/NIOSH publication for ozone: http://www.cdc.gov/niosh/npg/npgd0476.html. The document lists a concentration of 5 ppm as being "Immediately Dangerous to Live and Health" (IDLH). It is at least the opinion of NIOSH that ozone can indeed kill.

Also, organizations that handle chemicals are required by law to keep a Materials Safety Data Sheet (MSDS) available to their employees so that their employees will always have a reference on how to handle the chemicals. This is one for ozone from ozoneapplications.com: ozoneapplications.com/info/ozone_msds.htm. Note that it briefly describes the effects of contacting ozone.

Granted, Ecoquest products have other modes that do not necessarily generate ozone. These modes may very well work. I have no idea, I've never tested these products myself. Ecoquest advertises the use of a technology they call RCI (Radiant Catalytic Ionization). Its description is identical to that of PCO (Photo-Catalytic Oxidation). I suggest that it would be wise to research the effectiveness of these technologies before investing your money.

If government agencies raise suspicions about a company and the company, in return, raises suspicions about those government agencies, who do you believe? This can be confusing especially if both sides sound equally convincing. I suggest that you do background research on the facts and judge for yourself.

#8 UPDATE Employee

Solid Organization

AUTHOR: John - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Friday, May 11, 2007

Folks, I researched this company for months-on-end before I plunked down my hard-earned cash last September. One of the most convincing signs for me at the time was there was absolutely *NOTHING* on the company from this website!

First of all, let's look at what exactly "ozone" is. It is pure oxygen with each molecule having one extra atom attached. That's it! The chemical symbol is CO3. The air we breathe is CO2. Can oxygen make you sick? Sure. Do you know what having "the bends" is? Sugar can also make you sick, but it tastes delicious, doesn't it? Do you use mustard on hotdogs and/or hamburgers? Did you know that mustard gas is deadly and was used during WWI? In fact, it's so deadly, it was immediately banned after the war was over.

The odor given off by an EcoQuest purifier smells like chlorine, the stuff used in swimming pools as a anti-bacterial agent. Ozone is a natural anti-microbial that can control bacteria, mold, viruses and other biological hazards. It all comes down to levels of concentration! Low levels of mustard seed makes food tastier. Low levels of Chlorine purify our swimming pools. In the wrong forms and concentrations, mustard and Chlorine are both deadly.

OSHA has established that an exposure rate of .08 ppm for 8 hours is the maximum we can endure. The FDA reports a maximum continuous rate of exposure should be no higher than .05ppm. Other federal agencies endorse ozone exposure of .04ppm (and under) as a safe air sanitizer. Typical of bureaucracies, these agencies can't agree on a certain permissible level. But, they do agree that if used improperly, ozone can and will hurt you.

Now, the company, itself, and the opportunity it provides, are as benign as sitting in front of your total body weight in pure chocolate. Discipline is required to be a success in *ANY* business venture. If you want to fail, then do nothing. You will. If you put your heart and soul into the venture, odds of tremendous success are in your favor. If you eat your weight in that chocolate, you'll definitely get sick. In moderation, it's unlikely to harm you - unless you get an allergic reaction to it.

If you *DON'T* want to put your heart and soul into any business, keep your money in your pocket and continue to work for someone else, making them rich. If you lay down even a single, measly, red cent, doesn't it make sense to throw yourself completely into becoming a success? Is it a gamble? Hell yes, but so is crossing Hollywood and Vine (or any major city street) against the light. People do so successfully all the time.

Can you gain wealth without assuming any risk, whatsoever? Only if your rich uncle Gus dies and leaves you everything he's got to his name. If you don't have a rich uncle Gus, the answer is an unqualified *NO*! In today's world, you've got to fight, claw and sometimes brawl your way up. Can you run a successful business that is ethically and morally pure? I believe it's possible. Just refuse to be held back by inhibitions or intimidations, that's all.

If you are going to use this or any other work-from-home business model, I strongly recommend that you set your business up as an LLC. The reasons for doing so are way too many to list here. Do the research. Study the options. Believe me, there is nothing at all wrong with EcoQuest as means to an end - your financial independence. Just don't be tentative or iffy about it. If you decide this isn't for you - God bless, I wish you the best and sincerely hope you find whatever it is that will make you truly happy.

Just learned about EcoQuest

AUTHOR: Sally - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Friday, April 27, 2007

I just started working at an office that has a Frsh Air system. I didn't pay much attention to it. I did start to notice that my allergies felt better during the day (figured it was the time of the season). My nasal passages were clearer and I could breath deeper. Because I'm busy learning a new job and breathing is something I do often, I didn't think too much about it. But what I do notice is shortly after I walk into my home, my nasal passages swell and I take start taking shorter breaths.

Today I found out a little more about this system from the rep. I am interested in the product so, like any smart consumer, I began some research (which is how I found this site). I am going to do some more searching about the ozone, but overall I am convinced this product works. I talked to the rep about the unusual smell and found out it was due to the system being set too high. Since we've turned it down, the smell went away.

I'm so excited about this product & can't wait to learn more. I can, in no way, afford to by the start pack but will set that as a goal. But for now, I want a system for home and with more research and my own trial, will most likely become a distributor for this company.

I'm thankful I had the experience with the fresh air system before learning about the sales aspect of the company.

MLM / OZONE a bad mix

AUTHOR: La Inspect - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Tuesday, April 17, 2007

I have in the past sadly been sucked into "christian based" companies that promise many things. The issue is, are they really christian and what does that mean. There are several cults out there that say they are christian but are very off base biblically.

This company appears to stand on the pedestal of christianity but at the same time on
career builder.com state that they will give you a house three times as big and luxury cars. Now that said there are many infomercials that do the same every week with real estate, exercise machines not to mention those great little pills you take to cure anything that might be a problem.

This company smells to high heaven of a MLM
and you know sheep smell pretty bad.

As far as ozone goes not for interior use unless monitored by NASA scientist directly.

Swimming pools use ozone it is considered an alternative santizer. The generators are closed and produce a very distinct odor as one writer stated it can make you ill. More important UV rays at least in the pool units are part of this emission they will burn your eyes in a matter of seconds and are very dangerous. These units this company may not use "bulbs" however airborne ozone even in small amounts I'm not so sure I want to breath that, and I have respiratory issues.

To The Mold Inspector the only way to remove mold is to remove the surface(s) it has infected. Bleach will not remove it nor will ozone. These are only temporary fixes. If you have dry wall that has mold? It has to go, same with wood, if it's brick or tile it can be treated. If it's the grout we all know that's a bugger. Proper ventilation and cleaning habits are the best way to keep mold out of a home, not some fancy ozone gadget. You money would be better spent on a maid with a de-humidifier.

Cheers

one more thing

AUTHOR: Arthur - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Sunday, December 17, 2006

Ya, apparently this isn't your first post cuz i saw an identicle one somewhere about a business.
The Fresh air does have an ozone function but they make a version called the everest that has no ozone at all and is just as effective. You had it on away mode if it was making you natious which means you weren't following the directions.

The American Lung association is financial partners with honeywell air purifyers so gee, that isn't biased. The fresh air on away can cause irritation but isn't strong enough to hurt you and the RCI technology without the ozone by itself will purify anything far better than any other unit. The EPA's regulations are far higher than what our units opperate at. I have one in my apt set correctly and I had natural gas pumping into my house for 3 hrs on high and it effectively was destroying the gas so fast that I couldn't smell it. I only noticed because my apt was cold and the heat was all the way up. They are exceptional and no one conned me into anything.

I am a Certified mold inspector and when I got certified we were told they were the best, no one even approached me. I tracked down an ecoquest rep and signed up because after researching the products they are exceptional. I would bet my mold busines on it...wait, I do, every time I sanitize a house and sell a unit....I'm confident this will turn into a lucrative endeavor. My mgr and I are close. He calls me every day to help me work on building my business. Too much water is bad for you too, orr fire, or sleep...

The earth produces ozone to combat polution... oh, you have bleach in your house? That cleans but is a deadly poison far more dangerous than ozone!

When used the way it says in the manual it is not only safe but the most effective technology on the market. I don't need to fire anything at you but you should be out protesting people that drink water too, cuz it can kill you, ozone can't

I can't sit here and take this any longer!!

AUTHOR: Frank - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Tuesday, May 17, 2005

Ok folks, I can't sit here and read anymore of this without injecting a story and some important comments.

Not long ago my good buddy "Joe" purchased one of these ozone generators from an EcoQuest distributor. He was also interested in possibly becoming a distributor himself so he called me up with his pitch and I told him to bring the machine over for a demo.

This is one of the expensive models with a remote control and such that sells for around $700. Well, we placed it in my game room where I smoke and let it run for a couple of hours. When we went back into the gameroom I fired up a cigarette and watched the action. Sure enough the EcoQuest cleared the smoke out of the air along with other odors in the room. However, it left a very strange smell that I recognized but could not quite place at the time. I told my buddy that the smell was making me nauseated and was giving me a headache. Soon after, he gathered his machine up and went home. For the rest of the night and even the next morning I would go into the game room and I would start to feel crappy again. The strange smell also lingered. I finally turned on an exhaust fan I have in this room and cleared the strange smell out along with my headache and sour stomach.

I talked to my buddy a few days later and he too was complaining of a headache and sour stomach.
(No, he doesn't smoke)

Several days later it finally dawned on me what the smell was. Ozone!!! I've worked in the past around high voltage equipment and when you turn the equipment on you sometimes get a rush of ozone.

This got me curious so I stared looking in to this product not knowing at the time that the method that this machine uses is Ozone generation, but with a small amount of reading I found out indeed that this is how it works.

I could not believe it!! People are actually stupid enough to put an ozone generator in their house???!!! So I kept researching and what I found was disgusting.

GENERATING OZONE IN YOUR HOME IS NOT SAFE!!!

EcoQuest states that ozone is safe because it's a naturally occurring substance in the enviornment produced by lightning and waterfalls. BALONEY!!
Carbon monoxide is a naturally occurring substance in the enviornment too, but unless you're Dr.Kavorkian you certainly don't want a machine producing it in your home!!

There is also claims of "good" ozone and "bad" ozone and that the machine produces "good" ozone.
BALONEY!! There is "good" and "bad" ozone but it has to do with altitude not generation method. "Good" ozone is the ozone that exist at a high altitude (ozone layer) that protect us from UV rays, "bad" ozone is ozone that is found at altitudes were people exist and contributes to air pollution!!

Think I'm full of it, see for yourself:

Shall we start with the EPA?
http://www.epa.gov/iaq/pubs/ozonegen.html

How about the American Lung Association??
http://www.lungusa.org/site/pp.asp?c=dvLUK9O0E&b=39310

How about Alaska Health??
http://www.epi.hss.state.ak.us/bulletins/docs/b1997_36.htm

How about the state of California??
http://www.cal-iaq.org/o3_fact.htm
http://www.applications.dhs.ca.gov/pressreleases/store/pressreleases/27-97.html

How about the country of Canada??
http://www.hc-sc.gc.ca/english/protection/warnings/1999/99_62e.htm

Not only that, but many of these claims that these companies make are worthless. Still don't believe me?? Alpine was the name of this company before EcoQuest bought them out. The FDA filed suit against Alpine to stop making these false claims and won.
http://www.mlmwatch.org/04C/Alpine/alpine.html

To top that off, the people that are most adversly affected by ozone are one of the groups targeted by this company for sales, people with breathing problems.

I'm sorry, but these machine are not safe and will probably soon be banned in this country.

If you have one of these machine and have been getting headaches, shortness of breath, nausea and so forth try turning it off for a couple of days and I bet your symptoms will disappear.

As far as the MLM aspect of this company I read a few thing above that really bothered me too.

First, Toby above said that the restocking fee is to take used units, clean and upgrade them, repackage them etc. So.....EcoQuest is selling used machines, cleaned up and repackaged, as new???

Next, someone mentioned EcoQuest can't be responsible for an uplink giving false info to a distributor. Huh??? The company is 100% responsible if an uplink lies to distributor or anyone else about their product. The uplink is representing the product with the companys blessing, this makes the company responsible. See the link above concerning the FDA law suit.

Next, Toby I belive it was, said he sells this product in Canada. Canada has pulled the certification for the product and had warned the population not to use them. See the link above about Canada.

And please, please, please do not send me a link to an EcoQuest website that tries to debunk all the info in the links above. Any study put out by any company is for the benefit of the company. They are not going to tell the truth. If you want to prove me wrong send me a link to a independent testing agency (like I did) that says these things are safe and effective. Bet you can't find one.

Please people, before you buy into this product please use your brain. YOU the distributor may be the one that gets sued for making these false and dangerous claims. Think about your family and pets first before you chase the almighty MLM dollar.

Maybe the companys insurance against laysuits is why these machines are so expensive. Do you, the distributor, also have legal insurance??? You will probably need it in the future.

Flame away, I'm ready!!!

Please be careful when stereo-typing people and companies

AUTHOR: Jack - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Tuesday, November 30, 2004

I'm also very sorry that Courtney was obviously confused by Hugh's ridiculous accusations about EcoQuest and by the rebuttal remarks of some annoyed EcoQuest dealers. As an EcoQuest distributor and a 30-year veteran pastor, I would like to respond.

First of all, I was disappointed with Hugh's many inaccurate accusations and ridiculous assumptions regarding EcoQuest. For he (or Courtney) to expect to be able to start and invest in a real business, and then to get their investment back if they fail is just not realistic. That's just not how it works in the business world, and it has nothing to do with integrity. You're purchasing your own "franchise", not a product for your own personal use. Imagine the mess it would create if everyone who chose to purchase a "Success Pack" for $2,495 and didn't really try or didn't give it long enough could simply send back their stock and get their money back. The company would go out of business!

I don't know for sure exactly what bothered Courtney about the remarks from other dealers who responded to Hugh's accusations, but we (I'm including myself) represent only a tiny percentage of the hundreds of thousands of EcoQuest independent dealers spread throughout the world. So please don't blame the COMPANY for our remarks. (Although I believe our responses to Hugh have been accurate)

EcoQuest truly is a Christian company. They demand integrity from their dealers. For example, we are clearly told NOT to make false claims such as suggesting to potential customers that our purifiers will "heal" people with various physical problems. We are also reminded again and again NOT to entice potential new dealers by promising them success and/or wealth. When EcoQuest learns of dealers who choose to ignore such policies, those dealers lose their dealerships with the company. Of course there are going to be a few bad apples in a company as large as ours. But my experience with EcoQuest has taught me that the honest leaders & dealers FAR out-number the dishonest ones.

As far as Hugh's claims that the company is probably losing a lot of business now because he has allegedly uncovered the dirt about EcoQuest, that's laughable. How many people does he think will read our comments here?! No offense, but this isn't exactly TIME magazine! And as for his insinuation that the company has asked its dealers to rebutt Hugh's comments is equally laughable and absurd! It's simply not true. Besides, if the company had made such a request, there would be HUNDREDS of rebuttals from satisfied EcoQuests dealers flooding this web site by now!

Please let me close with these FACTS:

1) EcoQuest is an 18-year old billion dollar world-wide company.
2) EcoQuest has sold more than 5 million air purifiers, way more than any other air purification manufacturer.
3) EcoQuest DONATED approximately $20,000 worth of air purifiers to the Pentagon shortly after 9/11 to help remove the smoke & toxic fumes from the unhealthy air inside. And those units are still in use there today.
4) EcoQuest recently became the FIRST & ONLY air purification company to be certified by the National Space Foundation because of our use of NASA-approved & used technology.

Ours is not a perfect company. Our owner & CEO, Mike Jackson, would tell you that. But we continue to work extremely hard to improve wherever we can improve. The products work extremely well (I've personally got lots of testimonials from satisfied customers to back that up), the support & training are excellent, and the compensation plan is superior to that of any other home-based business I've ever run across. Sure it takes a lot of hard-work, dedication & patience to build a significant income with EcoQuest. But so what?! Life doesn't give us many free rides. The fact is, though, that building a successful EcoQuest business is very, very doable for most anyone who is willing to give it a fair shot.

The bottom line for me is that I absolutely would not risk my reputation after 30 years in the ministry on a product or company that I didn't have every reason to believe in. Well, I'll stake my reputation on EcoQuest!

Dear Courtney,

I am so sorry that you actually felt that Hugh was wronged. I only have one question for you: If you purchased a Subway franchise, do they have a money-back guarantee? Our products may be pricey, but compare them to others on the market (that have not been certified in space by NASA like ours)and you would see that our products are very reasonably priced in comparison. You obviously saw something in our company or you would not have proceeded to sign up as a dealer. You decided that the information posted here by Hugh and a few dealers was enough information for you to not pursue this venture any further. The only reason a few of us responded to Hugh was because he was informed about the no money back if you purchase a success pack, that is why it is important that YOU only decide on this option if you are truly 110% committed to building a home-based business. Our society today has too many Hughes that think opportunities such as ours are going to make them millionaires overnight without working, we do not teach that. If you are willing to do the work necessary and be trainable and coachable you can succeed in this business or any other home based opportunity-AS LONG AS YOU ARE WILLING TO WORK. Obviously this opportunity is not right for you and I wish you the best of luck with everything. Take Care.
