I have a 99 GMC Denali with 65,000 pampered miles on it that had a weird clunking sound when I would accelerate from a stop. I took my Denali to Eddie's transmission AKA D&M and AMMCO Transmission on E. Harry in Wichita Ks, to see if the clunk was coming from the transmission.

After dropping off the truck and having them look at the transmission I was told that the clunk sound I was hearing was coming from a bad sprag inside of the transmission and that the transmission would need to be overhauled to resolve the clunking sound. I told them to go ahead and repair the transmission under the assumption that the clunk heard would be fixed. Got the truck back 2/17/2006 and was told to come back in 10 days and make sure everything was still ok. After leaving Eddie's I hear the same clunk sound that was heard before.

At this point I am a bit upset due to just spending $1862.02 on something that does not seem to be what was causing the clunk on take off. So I then did some research and found that the clunk is actually a well known issue with the slip yoke and the fix is to replace or lube the rear drive shaft slip yoke cost around $100.00 at any local dealer. I also took the truck to Scholfield GMC in Wichita and had issue confirmed.

I then went back into the shop and talked with Eddie the owner asking for my money back and he said in so many words to screw myself and I will see you in court. He also said if you win in small claims I will see you in a higher court and counter sue and drag it out forever.

Now for the good parts:
After the argument in his shop and the fact that I brought the truck in with a clunk and left with the same clunk and wanted my money back on rebuilding a transmission that did not need to be rebuilt, I investigated his business. WOW the BBB plaque on his wall was bogus!!! He was removed as a member with the BBB due to many unresolved customer complaints under 3 different names. You can confirm this with the local Wichita BBB.

I have filed a complaint with the BBB and the district attorney consumer office in Wichita. I will be going downtown tomorrow to file a law suite. I also notified the local news station on the possible fraud this company has caused so many people this far. I am also a pretty good webmaster and I will be making a nice little website dedicated to them... look for it soon!

Advice:
If you are having any transmission issues or what you think may be a transmission issue I highly recommend to take your automobile to the local dealer. I have learned a very valuable lesson on this issue and I am willing to pay a bit more and save a ton in the long run!

Eddie's Tansmissions wouldn't be if not for me

AUTHOR: Larry - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Monday, November 19, 2007

Hello First i'd like to say how sorry i am for your loss, but don't feel alone because your not the first to be taken by Eddie Sizemore. Secondly i'd say im sorry because if it wasn't for me Eddie's wouldn't be in buisness today. My background with Eddie's is as follows.
When i was hired at 7613 East Harry Aamco Transmissions DBA D@M Transmissions it was by the owner Theadore Mark Harder who i must say is one of the most honest men i've ever met in my life. Mark lost hundreds of thousands of dollars because like me he was honest to the days end. Mark was ready to sell out because the franchise just wasn't making him money in fact quite the opposite. Eddie Sizemore owned a little hole in the wall on Mt. Vernon and Oliver which is now DL Hodge. I met Eddie for the first time after working for Aamco about six months. At first he seemed like a good ol boy and would do anything for anyone. Around four months later Mark Harder pulls me in his office to tell me he is bringing Eddie in to watch over the facility for a couple of weeks so he could maybe see what Mark was doing wrong with his buisness. After the first week of Eddie running the show he finally tells me he intends to buy Mark Harder out and wanted time to see what Employees were going to stay and go. At this point in time i'm building and r@r transmissions. Another week goes by and the contracts are signed. Now Eddie owns this building but not the franchise. The very next day Eddie comes in and fires everyone except for me,and says i've been given the title shop forman and supervisor. At this point in time Edde didn't know the difference between a band or a sprag let alone know how they operate in a automatic transmission. What made me quit Eddie's is once Mark Harder was out of the picture he started showing his true colors. {Rip off artist} One day i went to work and a dodge neon came in customer said car was slipping and was covered under insurance plan purchased with vehicle. Eddie asked me to do a EDS {External Diagnostic Service} and road test the vehicle. As instructed i performed the said diagnosis and road tested vehicle for a min of 45 min. This vehicle never slipped or malfunctioned once.Upon returning to the shop i went in the office and told Eddie that the car wasn't malfunctioning. A Very angry expression appeared on Eddie's face and he turned to me and said if you value your job you will drain the trans fluid out of that car and drive it until the transmission is burnt up. I have to tell you at this point in time i lost any respect i ever had for this man. I looked back at Eddie and said You know i have a family to feed, but i think they would agree when i say i quit. At that moment i handed my building keys to him and loaded my snap on tool box in the back of my truck and started home jobless for the first time in over a year. Today i own my own Transmission shop in Wichita, Ks Hard Core Transmissions and Automotive Inc. at 1528 S. Broadway and i can say this, you don't have to go to a Dealer to get honest professional work. I'm not saying that there isn't any crooked trans shops in Wichita, because i'd be lieing, but what i am saying is there are really good ones too. I've owned my shop for going on 2 years now and will probably be closing the doors this year, because i am honest. If i diagnose a car as being a transmission issue, and build the trans not fixing complaint then the customer doesn't pay for a Transmission. If i was as crooked as Eddie and others that own shops here in town I wouldn't be closing my doors at all. In fact i would probably have three stores like Eddie does now. I'm just not built that way i pay my taxes and i don't sell customers unneeded repairs, and i will close my shop down because i will never become a Eddie Sizemore. One last thing if Everyone in this town went to the Dealers for all they're auto-needs then the small buisness owner would never make it. Its really unfair for you to judge all transmission shops for something one crook did to you,i know Eddie's left a bad taste in your mouth, but not all of us have his buisness ethics and i never will. I have been in the transmission industry for over 20 years and i'm ASE certified He advertises he is but i guarantee you he's not. I believe that what comes around goes around and i believe Eddie's Transmissions day will come because he doesn't just rip customers off he is very cruel and sexist to his employee's. He has been reported time after time to no avail. Eddie if you read this let it be known it came from Larry Capps and im waiting for the day that you can't hide behind your corp. Just remember i know the rules of being incorperated and i also know how to pierce through the corp vale. All i'm saying is stay up on your bylaws because i and others who have been subjected to you are waiting to pounce. Ican be reached at 613-2673 or 267-9404.
