After reading all of the other reports, I don't think we have it so bad. Signed a contract with Edward Humphrey in January 2005 for the siding of our home. Against our better judgment, we gave him a 40% deposit. He was supposed to start in early March. Early March came and went with no word from him. We tried every which way to contact him, but to no avail. We finally received a call back from him....he said he was in the hospital with kidney stones (really!).

To make a long story short, (we already know how many people he ripped-off since he is now in jail) he actually started our job in the middle of May. The job was completed, but with part of it with the wrong materials. We tried to stop the subcontractor to let him know that he was using the wrong color, material, etc. but he would only reply "it's what Ed gave us to work with". The only saving grace is that we never paid him in full. He came to our home begging for money. My husband threw him off our property and said he would mail him a check when the siding passed inspection (it still hasn't, and he also lied about getting the permits and only applied for one after we bugged him about it).

I feel so horribly for everyone out there whose money was stolen. I feel so lucky that at least most of our siding was put up.

At least he's in jail now!

Tried to deal with Jiam

I received a e mail from Jiam's I phone. Notating that he sent receipts and time cards? Never received anything. Not even sure if that how he sent it. Whenever i responded I received a response weeks later. This resolve is at this time offered to homeowners. NOT prior employees who at this point can submit anything. Homeowners are my concern.

I am sure he hasn't filed his taxes for the sums of money he recieved. I am going to go back through quick books and take a real careful look at his wages and then I will get back to him. This offer to resolve to homeowners only. He has my email address.

So i saw that Ed said he was going to make it al better and pay back what he owe everyone.
So i went ahead and contacted Ed because i was an ex employee who was also scammed by Ed. He owes me for 120 hours of work and Almost $900.00 in materials and Plumbers fees that i paid for while i was working for him.
He replyed to me and told me to email him copies of the reciepts, which i did at the beginning of August. Till this day i have not heard back from him. I have emailed over 10 times with no reply.
So as of last week i have consulted an attorney and am working on handling this through him. So if anyone is dealing with Ed, Be careful. Seems that he is up to the same crap as before.

Edward Humphrey Offers Resolve To This issue

This is in response to all posted comments on this website. I would be more than happy to discuss with any valid client that had contract with my company over two years ago a resolution. I have not had 1 opportunity to talk or discuss the events that had occurred May-July 2005. I would be more than happy to discuss the actual issues and the pending contracts that were in place at that time. I have started resolving substantial valid refund issues with clients, payments restructured over a set monthly time frame. I feel that this website has been utilized for homeowners to vent their frustration, which I completely understand. After two years of nothing being resolved I am ready to reach out and give the homeowners an opportunity for me to make the situation whole again. Anyone who had a valid contract that would like to contact me can through our web address I would like to put this behind me as much as the homeowner does. Please don't hesitate to contact me.
