Show customers why they should trust your business over your competitors...

An advertisement on claimed that "Product Testers Wanted: Receive a FREE 40 GB iPod", a marketing research promotion that is organized by "eMarket Research Group", now aka "Incentive Reward Center".

The deal as promoted was this: the consumer is to "test" (really "buy") 6 products from eMarket Research Group's 3 pages of product promotions; the information of these 6 transactions are then reported by the businesses being promoted (such as the NY Times, BMG Music Services, etc.) to eMarket Research Group within a 4 - 8 week period, whereupon the consumer will receive, on-line, a voucher for a free 40 GB iPod that is to be sent in by mail and redeemed. The consumer is to complete all 6 required transactions w/in a 90 day period - a limited time period that includes the "4 - 8 week" time span needed for eMarket Research Group to receive the appropriate information from the promoted businesses (thus leaving about 30 days for the consumer to receive the on-line voucher and to redeem via mail).

eMarket Research Group has failed to reflect accurate information re: my own "account" - they suggest I have completed none of my required 6 transactions, where, in fact, I have completed 5 as of almost 2 months ago. After sending numerous emails to them via their website form (no direct contact information provided except for a supposed FL mail address - though I now understand the real business is located in Greenville, NC), eMarket Research Group has failed to respond to these numerous email attempts to alert them to their faulty information and lack of accuracy. Their terms and conditions also state that a consumer's account can be terminated for any reason or for no reason at all, w/ no previous statement or reason given to the consumer beforehand. This gives eMarket Research Group the winning hand no matter what, as they need not follow through on any of their "promotions" or "free gifts".

I would like the company to provide an area on their website, made plainly visable to on-line visitors, wherein users are able to post formal and unedited feedback and testimonials regarding eMarketing Research Group's services (or lack thereof). I would like the company to be held accountable for false advertising and dubious guarantees. I would like this company to offer a 1-800 number for technical assistance and as a means for direct contact so as to allow the consumer to rectify any potential problems that may arise re: the guidelines or accuracy of information that this company claims to adhere to or report w/ accuracy. I would like this company to make good on their claims and send the guaranteed "gift" to all consumers who have used their services and simply completed the required 6 transactions as stated when signing up for an account. I would like this company to pull all advertising until these steps to rectify the problems listed above have been completed.

How I FINALLY got my iPod!!

AUTHOR: Todd - (U.S.A.)

Just thought I'd update w/ a better title!

Also, here is a new report that I filed that has more complete (and extensive) information.

Feel free to copy and paste the URL in your own post, thereby making it easier for new folks ("victims") to find the information that could really benefit them (and any future victims!).

Surprising Response from Niu Tech, NC DOJ, another FL address and phone number for Niu Tech, and another suggestion for action...!

AUTHOR: Todd - (U.S.A.)

After initially complaining to the NC DOJ and consequently receiving the iPod as FedExed directly from "" (the phone number listed next to the Delray Beach, FL return address was (561) 939-6939 - another voice mail?), I also sent another letter to the NC DOJ thanking them for their mediation, but also requesting that Niu Tech (eMarket Research Group) post it's "official customer service line" on it's contact page. Niu Tech LLC responded via the NC DOJ that they consider it sufficient that the number is posted on !! So, anyone ripped off by this company must gather contact information for them by coming here to! More surprisingly, the NC DOJ stated that they could not be of any further assistance as they "cannot force a company to take a specific action" such as posting their own "official customer service hotline" on their own website!

Nonetheless, it is important that this formal action of filing to the NC DOJ is taken. Another suggestion for action to take is to contact the webmaster or the sales dept of the website that was advertising eMarket Research Group's "Free iPod" or whatever other promotion, and alert them both to the fact that they are advertising for a scam operation as well as directing them to or a post such as the one that you are reading ( ).

I had forgotten to previously include the NC address for Niu Tech LLC, and have also obtained another FL address.

Niu Tech LLC
200 Bristol Court
Greenville, NC 27834
or 561-939-6939

Another Florida Address for Niu Tech, besides the Delray Beach address is:

Niu Tech LLC
6001 Broken Parkway
Suite #300
Boca Raton, FL 33433

That's it for now!

Thank you, RipOff Report for your existence! Good luck to all.

anyone else who feels scammed by this company and feels helpless to please involve the NC Consumer Protection division of the Department of Justice

AUTHOR: Todd - (U.S.A.)

Thanks, Jeff, for the contact information. I wonder, however, why your "official customer service help line" is not made public to your customers so that you may provide the "good customer service" that you say you "want" to provide them? The only "official" contact information that your site offers is a web-based form with no "support ticket" method that you had mentioned, but rather a method that leaves your customers hanging, unaccounted for, and helpless. And by looking at the numerous complaints listed on about your company, it seems that as recent as 12/25/04 that the same issues that I raised a month ago are still proving problematic.

Needless to say, I issued a formal complaint to the North Carolina Department of Justice, Consumer Protection Section. It took no more than 20 minutes to do, and I wholeheartedly recommend that anyone else who feels scammed by this company and feels helpless to please involve the NC Consumer Protection division of the Department of Justice (NC DOJ):

Thanks to Rob in D.C. for the previous posts here re: this info.

My complaint was mediated by the NC DOJ (most of the text in my complaint can be found in my previous post here). Just yesterday, I received the Apple 40GB iPod, due ONLY to the action I had taken w/ the NC DOJ.

Contact info for the NC DOJ:
State of North Carolina
Department of Justice
Consumer Protection Section
9001 Mail Service Center
Raleigh, NC 27699-9001
Ph: (919) 716-6000
Fax: (919) 716-6050

Contact info for eMarket Research Group, etc. - "Fulfillment Division":
Jilliane Quiroz
(561) 306-1915

I hope this helps. Again, PLEASE take the time to alert the NC DOJ re: Niu Tech's dubious promotions as this is the only way to effect change. Have Niu Tech and all of their pseudonyms be held accountable.
