Emergency Locksmith Absolute Rip-Off, Stay Away North York Ontario Canada

My garage door opener broke on a Sunday and I looked up the internet and found a 24/7 service.

I wanted the garage door fixed that day so I went with them, Emergency Locksmith.  I paid over $600 to have the technician come and replace the opener the same day.  When they were done the door seemed good, it work fine and was quiet.  They would not take credit card and claimed they needed cash because their credit card machine was not working.  So went to the bank and got them cash.  They did not issue me a receipt either.

A month later, my garage door wouldn't open and I noticed that the opener had bent the top panel of my garage door.  I called the technician and after the few missed appoinments over the holidays he finally showed up.  As luck would have it, the opener started working fine while he was there and testing it.

However, once he left, I was parking my car and the door started acting up again.  I called the technician right away and he was on his way to another call and he calimed that he was not paid by the owner for the visist and that he could not come back because the owner would not pay him.

When I called the owner to discuss, he said the technician came and looked at it and that we tested it together several times and it was working fine.  I agreed with him but I told him it started acting up right after and that I needed the technician to come back and have a look because I beleive there was a problem with the opener and that a nut fell off the opener and landed on my car.  He refused to send the technician back and told me I probably unscrewed it myself when he left which is absolutely ridiculous.  We got into a heated argument and the call ended on bad terms.

I tried calling him back the next day to plead my case and he said Have a nice day and hung up.

My advice to anyone who reads this is to make sure you do your research and engage a reuptable company.

One month, over $600 later and now I have a broken garage door opener and a damaged garage door and an owner that will not take my calls to resolve the problems.

Much worse off then before I called this company with my initial problem.
