Brew City Beer Gear has been in business for something like 18 years, and in those 18 years they have learned nothing about "Customer Service". They tell their employees they pride themselves on building great customer service when they can't even be civilized with their employees. I have seen numerous times where an employee has been shorted on their checks and Human Resources tells them that if they (the employee) can't figure out why then oh well you are not getting your money.

One of the owners has threatened to make workers work without pay on several occasions. One example of the threats made to employees was that if anyone from the office calls at any point in time and the phone line is busy the employees will be working without pay for that hour. Brew City only has 1 phone line at each store, on this phone line we had to process credit cards and take customer calls, so for the owner to make a threat like that is not fair.

If you work at one of their kiosks they will schedule you to work up to 5 or 6 hours by yourself and you cannot leave to eat or use the bathroom. If you call the office to tell them you are having a bathroom emergency they tell you that if you leave you are going to lose your job. They take requests for products from customers that never come in and the office leaves the workers to deal with angry customers on a regular basis.

On more than several occasions I have observed, been a victim of and been told by other employees that the owner was always hitting on and sexually harassing the female workers, when this owner was told what he was doing could be considered sexual harassment he stopped doing these things but then began being very disruptive and rude toward the same workers he was harassing.

As a consumer and a former employee I would steer clear of Brew City Beer Gear for products that are poorly made and employment that is poorly managed.

Being trusted to rebut these statements took over half a decade to aquire. In this time any discrepancies I have ever had regarding hours and money have been thoroughly investigated, and many times personaly by one or all of the owners. The treatment was explained to me in the first two weeks I worked for Brew City. I was told due to the nature of small business sometimes the employee has to take the initiative to settle matters for themselves by communicating any concerns through any channel available. Brew City does business with a complete knowledge and respect for the law.

I have worked in kiosk and mall settings before outside of Brew City. Rules about attendance at stores and kiosks in the malls I have worked in ( grand Ave, southridge ) are generaly enforced by the company that owns the mall. This puts the company in a position to have to ask employees to accept them and the consequences that may result from any infraction.

Brew City is an honest reputable company with deep roots in its community. Trust, respect, honesty,loyalty,and dedication are all qualities that owner and employee alike resound in there interaction wtih themselves and their customers.
