I was "selected" to be invited to interviews being conducted by companies such as Fedex, Daiichi Sankyo, Deltacom, and Inventiv.  It sounded like an authentic opportunity to actually interview with those companies for positions they allegedly had available... and be pre-qualified and invited.

The appointment turned out to be just another people mill, which required that I wait indefinitely for my name to be called.... I had an 11 am APPOINTMENT and arrived at 10:45.... filled out a form that looked like it was prepared by a 5th grader, along with a cheap looking photocopied set of pages which I would check off the companies I wanted to meet with, and along with their 1 page advertisements..... I handed in my completed form and a copy of my resume.  Then proceeded to wait..... waiting.... watching the other 60 or so people wait.... then a few were called into the "orientation"..... and I decided then and there that I wasn't waiting longer than 30 minutes..... just to be ushered into a room to receive an "orientation" on how to interview.  Really?  Like I need to be orientated?  And after all, 2 of the companies I wanted to speak with were not even there!! so at 11:30, I departed.

Total waste of time.

I expected the event to be as billed... it was not.  What was there were 5 insurance companies, and a cellular phone company... "interviewing" people in the hallway where the other 60 of us were sitting!  Never did see Fedex.... but the funny thing is this: In order to "meet" with Fedex, I had to apply to the position on the Fedex web site prior to the event!  So if they want me they can find me in spite of the people factory!

My advice - dont waste your time with this.

Any REAL companies can be 100% open and honest about what they are offering.  ANY company that is not up front - does not deserve your time!
