EMS Energy Management Solutions John Mattice Troy Mattice Steve Luther Deadbeat debtors with atrocious values Folsom California

Energy Management Solutions (EMS. Formerly known as Energy Management Systems) is a small energy services company that I had worked with for a few years. I got to know John Mattice (president) pretty well and considered him a friend. At one point in our relationship, John approached me and asked if I would loan him some money for EMS. I felt I could trust him, so I decided to loan him the money. We executed a loan agreement and I gave him the funds. Over the course of a number of months John always made the payments on time, so everything was going fine, at least from my standpoint.

Then John approached me for more funds, and given that he was making the payments on time, the interest rate he offered was very attractive and it seemed his business was doing well, I decided to loan him the additional funds. We modified the loan agreement and now the loan amount was into six figures.

Well, the payments were comimg for a while, but then they stopped, with no communication with me at all.

Given my experince in the past with other dead-beat debtors, I decided not to pursue this matter in court, since I'm sure John transferred all of his assets out of his name and he probably would simply declare bankruptcy. I would have invested a bunch of time and money into suing him with no positive result for me. I would only be throwing good money after bad.

I suppose I was also clinging to the hope that the "decent" Mormon that I suspect he believes he is would at some point do the right thing and make SOME effort to repay me.

Well, I was wrong. He has made absolutely no effort AT ALL to contact me and offer ANY repayment plan. In fact they have NEVER returned any of my phone calls.

I have also learned that a large portion of the funds I loaned him went to pay legal fees in a custody battle for his grandchildren by his son Johnny (now with COMPASS ENERGY SOLUTIONS). I am truly disgusted by any alleged human being that received significant financial support to gain custody of his children, and has made ABSOLUTELY NO EFFORT TO REPAY ME! NONE! ZERO! What kind of human being is this?

I urge anyone reading this that may be considering a business relationship with any of the Mattices, and/or Energy Management Solutions (EMS), or Compass Energy Solutions, to spend your money elsewhere. The Mattices are not decent people and obviously can not be trusted.

We must hold people accountable for their irresponsible behavior. If there are no negative consequences for people who behave this way, then what will deter them from ripping off someone else? Next time it could be you!
