En Vogue Model & Talent Agency is not a legitimate agency. This agency is not a member of SAG (Screen Actors Guild), AFTRA (American Federation of Television and Radio Artists), or ATA (Association of Talent Agents). Which, therefore, confirms the agency illegitimate. Licensed, but illegitimate. An agency that knows real people in the business, doesn't make them legitimate or looking out for your best interests. The big, legitimate agencies will still interact with these people even though their business practices are unethical. Many scam talent agencies are licensed and manage to hold a few success stories with clients, which make them look real, but this agency will knowingly work with clients who are too short for the required fashion modeling height just to continue generating revenue from them. They will work with anyone and will waste your time, money, and energy. These agencies usually push you to accept minimal, one time jobs, such as smaller modeling jobs or a role as a background movie actor, which are great opportunities to learn the workings of the business, but are not career building in any way. The agency will use those jobs to create the illusion that you are progressing when you are indeed not. In addition, if an agency charges you money in any way (including for training courses) to obtain either of those jobs, it was unnecessary for them to do so and you were taken advantage of. Neither of those jobs require an agent. It is just another opportunity for the agency to cash in on. En Vogue Model & Talent Agency has a history of company name changes and multiple location changes. This, by itself, is an alarming sign. An agency doing this is trying to cover up their negative business past from current and future clients, nine times out of ten. There is an unresolved complaint with En Vogue Model & Talent Agency on the BBB website because the business could never be tracked down. This agency is known to hold public talent competitions charging upfront fees, which is not the behavior of a legitimate agency. These agencies will pay real representatives from legitimate agencies to attend their events to make them look more authentic, so beware! Their goal is to recruit hopefuls for training classes. It is crucial to do extensive research into these agencies before joining with them. The Federal Trade Commission website's page on modeling scams is a good place to start. The page's description of a modeling scam fits this agency to a T! Googling "talent scam" and "model scam" will provide you with further info to compare with this agency.

Retraction of Original Complaint

AUTHOR: - ()

POSTED: Monday, December 19, 2016

After further research, it appears that the unresolved complaint filed on the BBB (Better Business Bureau) website against this business in question may have possibly been directed towards a previous owner of this business, not the current owner of this business as listed here. In that case, I fully retract all statements in this complaint that were originally thought to be true, and the statements should be totally disregarded and ignored towards the current owner of the business.
