SEO Reputation Management at its best!

I have worked for Encore Nationwide for many years and so have many of my friends.  I never had a problem with them and made several thousand dollars, they even hired me as the manager for many of the events.

However the last promotion I did I was promised payment and was not paid and will never work for them again.

Usually when they send you to a very popular event like NFL or MLB games they compensate for parking because there is no free parking and parking alone is higher than your per hour pay.  This was the case on my most recent promotional event, so I emailed the staffing director and received a email response of yes, parking would be compensated as usual, just fax in receipts within 3 days.  The event was for several months and first payment wasn't until two months after the event started so I was constantly faxing in receipts for several months.

When the first check arrived I noticed a lot of money was missing.  I sat down and added it up and it was the parking.  I emailed the staffing director and was told the old staffing director was fired and they lost all my receipts and to refax them and "maybe" I would be paid if the client agreed.  I forwarded the email I was sent from the previous staffing director showing that I was told parking would be paid.  Her response was that person was fired and what they said was no longer relevant.  (?!?)

Furious that the "yes" turned into "maybe" but still wanting to try and be compensated for the money I spent on parking, I gathered what receipts I still had (up until this time Encore had been very reliable so I wasn't saving all my receipts like I should have been) and faxed them to Encore.  Within minutes I received a call from accounting saying I had faxed them too late and would not be paid.  I asked him what the time frame was since the email said nothing about needing them within a certain period and he said 3 days after the event.  I explained that I had originally faxed them within 3 days but the original receipts were lost and I was told to refax them.  He said he knew that but I would not be paid for parking because the person that told me that was fired.  I asked him what I could do to be compensated and he said nothing, I would not be compensated for parking at the event I was hired to be at.

So I will not work for them again.  It's just too risky, one of their staff could be fired and suddenly I'm not getting paid.  I emailed the friends I know that work for them and they're shocked, they will avoid jobs from Encore Nationwide if there is another promotion offered and even then they're aware Encore might decide to not pay.

Someone suggested I file a small claims lawsuit for ~$50.  Since I was hired and worked in St. Louis the lawsuit would be filed here and either the owner of Encore Nationwide would have to appear in court or attorney representing them.  If they chose not to appear I would win a default judgement and could file a lien against property and bank accounts owned by Encore Nationwide.  I hate to take it that far but they will not be reasonable so I think that might be my next recourse.
