I was browsing through some reports on ripoffreport.com and I was astonished at how right on they were. I worked for this company for three months and it was a job I truly enjoyed. I had ran direct marketing campaigns and sales drives for the last six years. I owned a small company called UFM and traveled to health clubs all over the states promoting health clubs.

Recently I got out because I was tired of the continuous travel. I took a job with encore due to their promise of preset appointments and pay scales they pesented me. Look, as much as I enjoyed the outside sales( which is something I hadnt expierences with my company, I was inside sales) the money just was'nt anything like what they promised in training and I should have known better- anytime a company puts you on straight commission, pay your own way to and from training (also for your own hotel) and has to sell you on the six figures you'll make, you know its a scam.

I wasnt inclined to respond on this board until I had to go back to a merchant that I signed up a couple months ago in order to replace a tire on my truck that had a slow unrepairable leak. It was the house of rims out here in virginia beach va. I went back because they were very curtious in noticing that the tire was low and they offered to replace it with a used tire free of charge.

When I went back the manager told me about the nightmare he was going through with encore and that it was taking 3-5 days for their money to be deposited into their account. I was shocked (but not amazed) because encore told me money is deposited into merchants acounts in 24-48 hours, but after not paying out sales reps what they claimed to pay it didnt really surprise me. Now house of rims will probably cancel their account with encore. I was to ashamed to inform arnie that I no longer ran appointments for them. It was very uncomfortable for me.

Its kind of funny reading through these ripoff reports about sales reps that worked for encore. I dont consider myself a sucker but dam, I gave them three months before I got out and they are getting paid on the accounts that I signed up for 3 years. I made lousy money with this company and honestly everything they promised was bullsh*t.

The sad truth is I actually enjoyed the outside sales. Only problem was I was making at most twelve hundred a month and spending $270 on gas and another $200 on cell phone and with the money Im used to making thats ridiculous. Especially when in training they said their bottom tier reps were making 60k a year. Thats a joke.

Another poster on this website broke it down very well so I not going to wasted time doing it. I will say that this guy dustin was put on the conference call several times while I was with the company. He seemed to be the poster boy for encore.

My message to him is " Dustin I hope encore is giving you kick backs on pumping the company because being as great as you are at it, you can achieve bigger and greater things- your a very talented guy and there are so many companies that would salavate to bring you on board. So Im assuming uless your a dumb*ss your getting money for the pump." I was on carls team and honestly I have nothing bad to say about carl. He seemed like he was always trying to help me out.

Now this robert *ssclown is a different story. This guys a joke. Matter of fact he was the last straw that caused me to just say the h*ll with it. You will probably be able to find him beating the turf in a used car lot in a few months. I sure he would fit in well in that type of atmosphere.

Oh and this policy of calling in at an appointment so your team leader can "thank the business owner for their time" is the most unprofessional and absurd policy I have ever heard of. Its very embarrising as a sales rep.

I guess the bottom line is that this company is horrible to work for. They do have a policy of overpromising and underdelivering. The commissions are a joke. Company policy is a joke. And while they may offer somewhat competitive rates for merchants, It just takes way to long for the money to hit the merchants accounts.

I now hate going back to merchants that I signed up because they always seem to be unhappy with the service. I now dodge calls froms merchants that I signed up who are mad at me for soliciting their business.

This is just an honest straight forward opinion of most of my expeirences with this company. I on average closed about 4 deals a week. In any other sales job this is more than enough to earn a good living. I have friends that work for (((competitor's names redacted))) and they make great money with 4 deals a week.

Problem with encore is that most of their preset appointments are b.s.. So out of a posible 25 per week you only sit in front of 10 that are really interested.
The others think your just going there to "drop some info off" as the the telemarketers apparently put it.
