I took my 1998 Chrysler sebring jxi limited convertible to engine transmission exchange for a brand new crate motor. The first time i got it back i had it for not even a day and the engine blew. I payed $1200 for labor plus fluids and i got the car back with no power steering fluid and little to none brake fluid i questioned why it was making a squealing noise every time i turned.

They told me it was a new engine and it needed to work its way in. Then when my engine blew they tried to tell me i had to pay for the towing. They finally towed it for me. I waited another week and a half for it again.

On the second time getting it back i looked under the hood and realize my heat shield for my wires was missing. I asked the mechanic about it and he said oh you don't need that. I said well if it came in with the car it should leave with the car its my property. He then retrieved it from the shop. Then they broke my coolent cap.

I had to fight with them to replace that. Then i had the car for about 3 days and noticed it was hard to steer and their was a clunking noise coming from driver wheel well. I took it to a Chrysler dealership to get inspected. The results of the inspection said the shop who worked on my car tore my upper ball joints with a pickle fork and i was missing brake pins. Which almost resulted in me totaling my car.

I again whent back to engine transmission exchange and was not happy i told them what happen and they said they would take care of it. Well they've had it for another week and a half and still its not done. They also gave me a loaner car with a dead battery, torn wiper blades, broken gas game.

Their loaner car left me stranded at the grocery store two times. They said they have 24/7 365 a day free towing but i called and no awnser. I called them the next day and they said oh sorry i left the cell at the shop. Then the next day my wife got pulled over for the tale light being out and the state trooper tried to give her a ticket but then she explained the situation. He then mentioned this site. I called the shop again and demands a different loaner car the said they don't have any more.

But they will pay for the ticket. I said that's not acceptable what about her record they said they want do anything about that but we could dispute of in traffic court. They currently still have my car and it has not moved from the spot i parked it in a week and a half ago. I was told replacing upper ball joints and brake pins does not take that long. Im kinda stuck on what to do. Can anyone help im only 20 years old and i have no family and i feel i am being taken advantage of.

Engine Transmission Exchange - Highly Recommended

AUTHOR: rmartin - ()

POSTED: Monday, April 28, 2014

I have had two dealings with the Engine Transmission Exchange. I had to have two exhaust headers replaced on my 2002 Dodge Dakota. Initially, they gave me an estimate which included contingencies of possibly grinding heads, possibly removing snapped off bolts, and the like.  Midas Muffler wouldn't even give me an estimate. ETE estimated one week.  They completed it in 5 days.  Most striking was, the final invoice was for LESS than the estimate by about $500 dollars.  They said they didn't need to do some of the contingency things they had included.  They could have charged me for grinding the heads, and removing rusted bolts that had snapped off, and I wouldn't have known whether they had or hadn't done the extra things. So they did the job for less, and I had them spend the left over money to install all new shocks which my truck needed badly.

So about 5 months go buy, and my front end started banging away like it was literally going to fall off when I hit even the slightest bump in the road.  There was a metal-metal hammering sound.  I took it in to EXE, as a walkin, just to have them take a look-see, not knowing what it was. The manager checked things over while I waited.  He came back, with a Loaner Key in his hand, and said it will be about three hours to get a replacement shock and install it. Through no fault of EXE, the bushing on the shock had failed causing the clammering, hammering noise.  I took the loaner car, did some errands.  They called after about three hours, and said it was finished.  I picked up the truck, and, no noise! They covered everything at their expense, or under warranty - even though I was prepared to pay the full ticket because it had been over five months.

My experience leaves me with a very satisfied feeling about my EXE-Waukesha experience.  They had two separate experiences to rip me off, and I wouldn't have known the difference.  They have what most businesses -let alone auto repair shops- have, and that is INTEGRITY.  A refreshing attribute. They do what the say, and say what they do. They come highly recommended, as I have shared this story with many of my associations since I met them.

As I read the orignial complaint about EXE, I wonder if we are even talking about the same company. They only verification that we indeed are, is the names of those who helped me, are the same who are being trashed in the original report.

Keep up the great work!

PS:  I am not an employee, friend, or friend of any EXE employee/owner.  I am someone who fortunately just ran into them by chance.

Engine and Transmission Exchange was not a problem, I don't own this car, Sorry!

AUTHOR: brandonp - ()

POSTED: Wednesday, April 17, 2013

I tried to remove this letter shortly after posting it. I do not own this car and I am not married. My girlfriend gave me some of the information 2nd hand and I have come to find out that it's inaccurate. When the car was brought to Engine and Transmssion Exchange it was in pieces from another shop. There may have been parts that were unknown and missing.  Engine and Transmission Exchange did install a factory remanufactured engine for her car and that engine had a noise under warranty. They did replace the engine at no cost and offered a loaner car also at no cost while my car was being fixed.

Engine and Transmission Exchange also installed some suspension parts for me at no cost for my inconvenience. My girlfriend did not receive a ticket with their loaner car as she said. After the engine was installed a heat shield was missing and it was promptly replaced. I have been very satisfied with Vince at Engine and Transmission Exchange and I am arranging for them to work on my 2 other cars. I shouldn't have posted this report. My girlfiend was angy that her cars were repossessed while all this was going down. I apologized to Vince at Engine and Transmission Exchange. I should not have posted this report and I would like to retract it. Sincerely
