I purchased a used engine for a 2002 Mazda Millenia on October 13, 2011 from Engine and Transmission World. I paid approximately $400 more than the majority of engines listed on the internet only because they had one which they advertised as having only 38,000 miles on it.
I called the company to confirm the details and was told that they had a CarFax report on the vehicle that the engine came out of and that they would include it with the paperwork for the engine.
I bought the engine and it looked good when it was delivered but there was no paperwork with the engine. No receipt, No CarFax report, No Warranty, Nothing!
I called to ask about the paperwork and was told that someone would call. I later called again and was told to email my request.
After two phone calls and now three emails, I have never received any of the paperwork. I especially wanted the CarFax report because it would add the additional value to my car upon resale since he engine suppossedly had so few miles on it.
The worst part about this whole mess is that the engine has not run properly since it was put back into the car. It spits, stutters and stalls repeatedly and I have spent several hundreds of dollars with return trips back to the shop for repairs. For some reason, the engine does not send codes back to the computer to diagnose whats wrong the way that it should.
Ironically, I am in the business of remanufacturing diesel engines with no complaints in 26 years as a businessman.
Please take my advise. I would never do business with these con men!
