In 2006, I read the book, "Cracking the Millionaire Code" by Mark Victor Hansen and Robert G. Allen and decided to attend a seminar in my home town. At the seminar, I was told that I didn't have to use any of my own money, but could make substantial profits in real estate by using "other people's money." A representative from the company helped me sign up for a credit card online and instructed me to report my income as 400K (because the rep said that's what I will earn during the next year) in order to qualify for a high credit line. I used up my credit line to pay for EWI programs and finance real estate deals, but have NOT made any money using EWI's training or coaching programs.

At another free EWI seminar, I was told that if I wanted to get on the fast-track to success, I would have to sign up for the Mastery Program, which at the time cost $29,995. Over the course of a year, I attended multiple Mastery Level (Gold) seminars all over the country, and I even attended a field training with an instructor.

In 2007, I was contacted by EWI and told that I was hand-selected to be part of the Ultimate Wealth Building Success Team for only $7995. (But wait, there's more). Since I was skeptical about spending more money, I was guaranteed that if I did not recoup my initial tuition within 12 months of completing the program, I would recieve a full-refund. I requested a copy of the guarantee in writing, but I was told that I could not recieve a copy of it until I signed up for the program.

After I signed up, I read the fine print of the personal training guarantee which reads, "If within 12 months of completion of your first personal training session, you have not at least recouped your initial tuition; we will refund your tuition or continue to work with you, at our expense, until you have reached your program objectives. This is at our option... You must document that you have made at least 30 offers, excluding counter offers, using our methods, under the trainer's guidance during the 12 month coaching program. If you do not complete the program and have not made at least 30 offers, you will not be eligible to recieve a refund."

I worked with a trainer for approximately 15 weeks, then was given a number for a coaching hotline after the 15 weeks. During that time, I made over 30 offers in 3 states, all with my coach's instruction. None of the offers ever came to fruition, mostly because you can't (legally) get something for nothing. In other words, many of the techniques for acquiring real estate were ethically questionable, particularly when trying to finance real estate deals with little or no money down. In retrospect, isn't that a main cause for the so-called housing meltdown in America?

After 12 months of completing the success team personal training, I hadn't made a dime. If fact, I was in the hole tens of thousands of dollars. I met all of the criteria listed in the personal training guarantee, but when I applied for a refund, my application was rejected and I was offered to start the coaching program again. This time I'm wise enough to walk away.

I consider myself to be fairly intelligent, but I was no match for the high-pressured sales techniques that EWI uses to exploit the vulnerabilities of those who want to provide a good life for their families. (They prey on people's honest desires to be financially secure and lull victims into thinking that their program is the answer to all of your financial problems.)

I still keep in contact with many of my associates who signed up for the mastery or ultimate wealth building success team through EWI. One of my associates went bankrupt. Another associate who WAS close to retirement has lost nearly 50K and has two properties that are currently in foreclosure.

EWI doesn't care about YOU, they only care about your cash. Stay away from EWI and invest your hard-earned money wisely.
