I received a telemarketing call offering extended warrantee insurance on my car and was asked if I was interested.  I am.  I was transferred to a representative to determine my car's eligibility for the insurance program.  It is.

I was transferred again to another representative to explain the program and costs.  He gave me a very reasonable rate and, up to this point, had been very friendly and accommodating.  He asked for my credit card or check by phone information to make the initial payment.  I told him that I wanted to do some "homework" on Enterprise Financial Group and would likea number to call him back if I decided to accept the offered plan.  Suddenly the tone of conversation changed.  He became very indignant, rude, sarcastic, and derogatory and assured me I had no reason to question the integrity of his company.  He informed me that if I didn't accept the offer while we were on the phone, it would no longer be available.  I said "good by" and hung up.

Don't let anyone pressure you into revealing information until you are sure you know more about the company.  If they have nothing to hide, they will accept and respect your wishes.

Enterprise Financial Group companies and partners use call centers to make outbound calls

AUTHOR: Joe - (USA)

POSTED: Monday, April 27, 2015

I have been receiving calls from Enterprise Financial Group (EFG) companies and partners for years. It is disingenuous to say that EFG companies and their partners do not make outbound calls. Sometimes EFG companies and their partners make the outbound calls themselves. But more often, they use call centers to make the calls, asking if you still own a particular vehicle. If you say you still own the vehicle, their call center transfers you to either an an agent at an EFG company or one of their partners.   Even if EFG does not own the call center, their companies and partners have agreements with them to make and transfer the calls.

Once the call is transfered, EFG's agents all follow the same script, identifying themselves as either an EFG company or partner and saying that EFG is the company providing the extended warranty which they say is just like the manufacturer's warranty. Their agents are very resistent to sending you a copy of their proposed "extended warranty" or giving you a link to it online, saying they are required to get a downpayment first, then will send you a hard copy.  They say you can review it when you receive it in the mail and can get your money back if you cancel within 30 days.  If you are persistent and get to look at it before paying, you will see why they don't want you to see it first. EFG "extended warranties" are nothing like factory warranties and in fact aren't even warranties. They are service contracts loaded with exclusionary clauses used to deny claims that make them virtually worthless.

Please Call EFG

AUTHOR: Alex - (Irving)

POSTED: Wednesday, March 11, 2015

Hi Rich, thanks for the response. All materials about all EFG products are made available to anyone who is considering purchasing them. Additionally, all of our product materials have a contact phone number on them, should the person have questions. This is another indicator to us that someone is illegally using our name in these outbound calls. If you will call Alex, we will attempt to identify what company is calling and illegally using our name in their sales pitch. Thanks in advance for your time. Alex’s direct line is 800-527-1984, Ext 8337.

RE: phone call

Alex.  Although I appreciate your response and concern, there is no need for further discussion.  I would like to suggest making it an option for potential customers to review materials and/or check information about the company before they make a final decision.  And that would entail providing a direct phone number to call the representative back.

Rich

From EFG Companies

AUTHOR: Alex - (Irving)

POSTED: Tuesday, March 10, 2015

Hello, my name is Alex Drasil and I’m the director of claims here at Enterprise Financial Group. We have been investigating the phone call you received since you left this report and I wanted to contact you directly to thank you for the feedback. EFG does not make outbound calls to customers to sell vehicle service contracts, we do not endorse this behavior by our partners, and we take direct action if it does happen. If you could contact me directly so that I can get more information from you about the phone call, then it will give us what we need to investigate this immediately. My number is 800-527-1984, Ext 8337. Thank you!
