To make a very long story short-I rented a vehicle at Lindenhurst NY location.  I returned to Amityville location for convenience. Two employees checked the car out, said all fine, gave me paperwork, kept the car and told me Lindenhurst location would contact me to close out the account.  A week later I received a blank incident form in mail stating I should fill out incident that occurred while I had car.  I sent back and contacted, told nothing had happened.  They sent me an almost $900 bill for damage, pictures, huge scratches on the hood, roof of car.

After several months I received correspondence that they had completed their investigation  and I was responsible.  I called Damage Recovery Unit.  They told me someone at the Amityville location had both informed me of the damages and offered me an incident report on the spot but I refused.  I argued with them, yet you took the vehicle, which was not yours, it belonged to another location, plus you handed me receipts, etc., with nothing documenting damage. 

I told them they were flat-out lying.  I requested 3X for the Regional Manager to call me after I spoke with both branches several times.  I even went into Amityville to request this.  He never called me!  I told them I was filing a complaint with NYS Insurance Dept., since they were also attempting to get me to put claim through GEICO.  Also the Federal Trade Commission and Suffolk County DA.  I am in the process of writing complaints to send now.

I am the customer complaining about Enterprise.  Update, after close to a week the Regional Manager did call me.  I spoke to him about my experience.  He told me I would not have to pay the charges.  I do not know if it was because I was insisting I would file a report against the company or he just believed me or could not prove I damaged the car.  Regardless, I have sent a complaint to the New York State Insurance Department and am also sending same conplaint to Suffolk County DAs office and Federal Trade Commission.  Even though it was resolved in my favor, someone at Enterprise clearly lied.
