When I arrived at the airport in Austin (11/3/08), I went to the Enterprise Rent A Car counter and asked a price. They told me $80 a day. When I had asked them a price quote last month it was only $40 (which I didn't rent then, but rather took a cab) I thought $80 to be expensive, but they said that that is what it was. So I agreed to it. I was running a little late to get to work. When I went to the parking lot outside (which was a long walk), that is the point they forced "insurance" on me for $40. I told them I had my own insurance, but they told me I still had to have at least $15 per day of theirs. I am now finding that that is not true. They lied to me.

When I brought the car back Wednesday (11/5/08), they tacked on another 33% and told me that that was tax and they had to collect it. I found on my statement that they had charged $450. My company is refusing to pay this as $450 for rental car for 3 days is too much. They are only reimbursing me $40 per day and told me to take it up with Enterprise.

I called Enterprise and after being passed around the phone a few times and getting a manager, he gave me the same excuses and told me I had to pay it. They did say the $450 was a deposit and that I would get a $60 credit back. If I had know that I was not paying $80 day, but rather paying $130 per day for a ford focus rental car, I would have caught the cab. This is very deceptive and I feel like this company ripped me off and handled this in a very unprofessional manner.
