My car was damaged during a storm and had to be taken in to the shop for estimate and repairs so Geico set me up with a rental car through Enterprise. While I was signing for my car the sales associate informed me that I needed to sign up for liability or full coverage insurance otherwise I would not be covered in the event if something happened while I was in the rental, but that I was lucky because they were running a special on full coverage so it would actually be cheaper than the liability so I signed for that. After 20 days my car was still being repaired and I called Geico angry because I had spent so much money thus far on the extra insurance for the rental. He then informed me that I did not need to sign up for the extra insurance as I was already insured by Geico and would only be responsible for my $500 deductible if anything happened. I contacted Enterprise to get the insurance taken off and they told me I had to go to a physical location for a signature. I got to the enterprise location and they wouldn't take the insurance off because I didn't have the car with me, it was parked at the DFW airport because I was out of town, which the person on the phone didn't mention. It is Sunday so the insurance still isn't off due to it being a Sunday and I have paid $307 for insurance I didn't need in the first place which is over half of the deductible I would have been responsible for and I haven't even been in an accident. I think it's criminal that they tricked me into thinking I needed to have extra insurance on the vehicle already knowing that I was insured by Geico; they set up the rental confirmation! I want my wasted $307 back!!
