Entertainment Rewards ripoff, unauthorized credit card charges unauthorized membership allegedly via ticketmaster Troy Michigan

I looked at my online credit card statement and saw a mysterious $9.00 charge for a company called "Entertainment Rewards" from that same day. I was confused because I did not use my credit card that day. I looked up the company's website and found that there is a member login. So I tried my email and some passwords I might have used, but they were invalid. I then tried the "forgot your password" option and discovered that I apparently did have an account with the company. The password "I" created was emailed to me; when I saw this password, it was very obvious to me that I did not create this account since the password is not one I would have ever used.

I then called the company (the 866 number provided) and told them about the unauthorized charges. The receptionist seemed to drag out the process of obtaining my information and put me on hold a lot. However at the end of this, the woman apologized for the inconvenience of the charge and told me that my account was cancalled and my credit card would be refunded in 5-7 days.

Apparently this company has some ties to ticketmaster. Oddly though, I haven't used ticketmaster since the end of August and this is the first (and last!) time I have been charged for Entertainment Rewards. I keep close watch on my credit card bills and have had no other fraudulent charges or associations with Ticketmaster, so I am left confused as to how this came about so late after my last contact.

You can be sure that if I don't receive my refund I will file another report.
