Used the valet service at a popular diner and when the car was returned, the golf clubs in the back were missing. The car was parked behind the restaurant on a poorly lit, un-monitored area and I feel the kid who parked it forgot to lock the car. The owner of the Valet finally returned my calls two days later and told me their insurance would not cover the loss. They offered no restitution. What a way to run a service business!!

What a stupid excuse to give in reponse to this poor customer's car

All I have to say is WTF?!!!

What a way to respond.... this is what happened to a customer's car and all "EPIC VALET" can say is "These things happen unfortuately, the same thing probably would have happened if the customer parked the car himself."

WOW! I be sure to remember "EPIC VALET," shouldn't be hard not to remember this valet company. I can't believe that is the excuse "EPIC VALET" gave for this situation.

It's like backslapping the customer. I can't believe this Customer was let down like this!

Well... "unfortunately... these things happen..." lamest excuse in the book!

Be realistic

This customers car was parked in a parking lot in full view of Camelback Road around 33rd Street (no more than 20 feet from Camelback Road at 8pm on a Friday night). Not only is this lot well lit and on one of the busiest streets in Arizona, there were valets going in and out of that lot all night.

The car was locked and our ticket (disclaimer) clearly states Articles left in vehicle at owners risk. Epic Valet is not responsible for items left in vehicle. This includes but is not limited to radar detectors, car phones, sunglasses, CDs and/or other keys aside from ignition key. Epic had two valets and a manager in and out of that lot all night. You cannot expect a valet company to have 24 hour security in their parking lots. You cannot expect a valet company to insure everything that is in a person's car. The only way we would be liable is if we stopped every customer and made an inventory of every item that was in their car. Then we would have to sign a separate for every customer that parked with us.

I contacted this customer as soon as I came into work on the following Monday. There is not a valet or insurance company in America that would pay this claim. These things happen unfortuately, the same thing probably would have happened if the customer parked the car himself. In fact, it is 10 times safer to valet your car because you have employees in and out of the lot watching the vehicles all night.
