Equity Financial Management Group, subsidiary Of Global Trust Corporation, Sweepstakes scam Global Lottery ripoff Vancover British Columbia

I recieved a letter in the mail statng that I had won 25,000 dollars as a part of the North America Sweepstakes. Also inside was a check for 980 dollars for tax and clearance fee, with the instructions to "kindly deposit or cash the check to pay for your tax and clearance fee." The check was letter headed with the Master Spas logo and address(Master Spaswas not apart of the scam). The check seemed legit, however I contacted Master Spas and they informed me that they do not support any sweepstakes.

Luckily I did not fall for this scam but there seems to be many like it. You recieve a letter with a check that you cash, then send the money to the people you contact to recive you "winnings". Then you find out the check was a fraud and the money is now gone.

I contacted my local police dept and let them handle it.
