Equity Trust Company Worst Business Decision Ever Elyria, Ohio

Creating and maintaining an IRA account with Equity Trust Company was the worst business decision I ever made in my entire life.  Dealing with them is next to impossible.  Their forms are confusing, their rules are ridiculous - the customer service team members are uneducated in their services and the types of accounts that are set up, by law.  Their website is often down, their fees are high and unpredictable.  This fall I asked for checks to be disbursed and they took so long that I eventually had to call and request them to be overnighted to meet a deadline and they charged me.  I had allowed plenty of time, but they just don't get it.  I am often in tears trying to figure out what they need and how to do it.  Recently they started advertising, "We'll even fill out your forms for you."  That is hysterically funny,  One man filled them out on line and emailed them to me and they were the wrong forms.  The next lady couldn't explain the problem and had no clue what the first guy did.  Later, I got another woman who was actually interested in figuring it out, but she was not available the next time I had a transaction.  And so it goes!  I never get the same CSR and when they email, you never get the name of a specific person so you are always starting OVER when you try to work out an issue.  I have set up another IRA account and it is truly self-directing and I am trying to worm my assets away from these crooks.   They are just impossible to deal with and have many flaws in their business model.  My account is 12 years old and they have been a continual nemesis to me weekly.
