I too wish that I had been aware of the multiple negative things floating around on the net regarding these people! I moved into a "renovated" place they had a little over a year ago and have had nothing but issues since.

The new carpet, linoleum and paint was done shoddy and was probably as cheap as they could get. The carpet and linoleum started coming up within weeks, mold began growing on the walls as soon as the rain started, the furnace has been dangerous to use, even the gas company told them it needed to be replaced, my sinks have been leaking since I moved in and have never been repaired even though I've put in multiple requests.

There are illegal activities going on by other renters and they know about it but don't care because their rent is being paid on time. These people are horrible to deal with and only want your money. STAY AWAY!!!

My husband and I have been looking for a place to call home for months now. But, because our credit is BAD we were turned down many times by other property managers, even after I explained that our credit was bad prior to applying as I did not want to waste money on a denial. Kameron at Eqwest was totally upfront and honest with me. She took all the items that would come up on our application  into consideration. And instead of denying us right away for anything, she called me and I was able to explain myself. The approved us when they definitly didn't have to so this alone is proof that they DOP have a heart within this company. And as far as Eqwest being "money hungry" this has to be a lie or a false accusation because Eqwest had the complete opportunity to nearly double the amount of the advertised move-in total on me and they DIDN'T! We got approved late in the month to where there was only 1 week in the month left. You can imagine paying a deposit+move in fee+1st months rent and then one week later on the 1st of the new month having to pay another FULL months rent. I sent them an email asking if there was anyway we could hold off on the move-in process until the last day of the month and also asked if there was anyway we could have our 1st months rent at half off because I noticed they offered that special at there other properties. Kameron called me back immediately and said YES! listen carefully...they said YES they could honor that special for us, even though it was NEVER offered for this property! Now, is that someone that you would call money hungry?? In fact I didn't even want to ask because I was believing what I was reading on the internet. They had every given right to charge me the full amount for everything. But, instead they saved us over $500. They also were very cooperative when we had to reschedule, or even pay a portion of a bill instead of the entire part at once. Does this sound at ALL money hungry to you??

I used to manage a property for my parents when they moved away and its not easy. But, as far as maintanence goes, its not always the choice of the property manager when and who fixes what. Everything like that has to go through the owner and most times owners do not want to pay top notch for repairs, this is NOT the property managers fault. Or maybe the owners want to use there own contractors instead of the ones hired by the prop managers. This isn't the fault of Eqwest either. And at the time of moving in you are suppos to walk though everything carefully, and if in fact you didnt think it was a renovated to your liking you could of pulled out right there. And if it had only been weeks later when the carpet and linoleum started coming up, I've gotta hard time believing that they didn't do anything about it. I specifically asked Kameron "what if something breaks or happens in a week or so after moving in?" and she told me that it wasn't a problem and to give them a call immediately. I've gotta feeling that these people waited and waited until it would of been hard for Eqwest to believe it wasn't there doing. If you report something wrong within a few weeks, you're still a new tenant and they would most likly believe that the damage was not caused by you since you're so new.

What exactly is a property manager suppos to do about illegal activities? get it on camera? hire private Investigators? If they were to call the cops without proof then it would just be hearsay. So this complaint too is out of the hands of the property manager.And you are so concernted then why didn't you just call the police yourself? after all you sound as though you were witnessing illegal activity 1st hand.

ALL and ALL I just wanted to make sure that there was a good review out there about Eqwest as well because they went above and beyond the call of duty for my family and they didn't have to at all, in fact they probably shouldn't of. Before believing everything you read on the internet please keep in mind that the majority of reviews are BAD. no one thinks to stop and write a good review, therefore all you see is the negative. But, always check it out for yourself before believing angry people.
