Recently widowed, my credit life insurance claim was denied and insurance cancelled because the company said that my husband and I answer "no" to medical history questions, and produces a form with a copy of our signatures.I believe our signatures were lifted from the purchasing agreement we signed.

My husband nor I were asked or directed to answer medical history questions the "x" marking the boxes are not ours.

The first time I saw this form was when my claim was denied I asked for the copy of the form/policy asking the medical history questions. I've asked for three copies over a period of time. The second copy sent to me I believe shows that the signature were not orignally on that form/policy. The "x" marking are positively not ours. I have samples of my husbands hand writing from his numerous hand written sermons and other papers. The only thing we were asked to sign was that we are electing to take the joint credit life insurance. My husband died June 9, 2005 the transaction/purchase took place April 2004.

I've said insult to injury because they have accused us of lying. The injury is the shoddy workmanship. Which we did report to the company after signing a card of completion and I wrote comments on the back, I had called, written. The company sent a "represenative"? Who glued some of the laminate down and even did a shoddy job on that the glue is still smeared on the laminate, duck tape is still on the part of the cabinet to hold the laminate down. I have taken pictures. There are some many example of their shoddy work

The company made it so stessful in trying to get it resolved we gave up until they sent another salesman trying to sale a expensive window we listen to the pitch, signed the papers only for an opportunity to tell about the problem with the first purchased them in a written letter send certified mail within the three days cancellation period. I stated at the time because of the job with the kitchen cabinet I will never ever be one of their customers nor any one I know.

The is so much more damage to many to name at this time except for the interest rate of $2.65 per day on the balance.

I am still grieving my loss, but on some of my stronger days am able to address this situation. Thank you for providing this opportunity

#6 UPDATE EX-employee responds

This is how they really operate

AUTHOR: Ex Employee - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Friday, November 30, 2007

Ok, here is how they operate and if you decide to do business with them that is up to you. They make the windows in thier own factory(Vinyl Design) and sell them at very high prices using just about every and all high pressure tactic know. Then they finance the job via thier sub/shell company HIAC (Home Improvement Acceptance Corp), the offices for this company are located in their home office on Monroe St in Toledo Oh, if you have been thrown off by a different address, trust me, that is all it is, a drop box to give the impression its a seperate company but its not.

Then you get a call from another of thier sub/shell companies, HAC (Home Acceptance Corp), which is thier mortgage company, who want to refinance your house to pay off the loan you just got from HIAC and at the same time get you cash from the available equity in your home to finance yet more high priced home improvement products from the parent company, Erie Construction Mid-West.

All three companies are owned and controlled by the same individual and what they have done is model thier business practices from another "home improvement" company, Pacesetter, who I am sure if you do a google search on, you will find more of the same type experiences from thier customers. Basically at the core what they are is a "sales orgainization" not a home improvement company and if you are looking for good quality work done at a fair price my suggestion would be to do your homework and look elsewhere.

Erie SCAM, Home Acceptance Corp shouldn't be blamed for Eries practices

AUTHOR: Mike - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Friday, April 06, 2007

Carolyn, your report doesn't show any reasons for disliking Home Acceptance Corp. I will be posting my own Erie Construction Midwest scam experience as soon as it is resolved and I have all details at once. I am currently doing business with Home Acceptance by refinancing my home and so far it has been a very pleasing experience. So I had to post a rebuttal on here in their defense.

I've never been treated so well by a business as HAC has. I am in the final stages on closing on my new mortgage and will be able to provide an update to this report as soon as I do so. I have found out that Home Acceptance is not an affiliate of Erie, but a third party that helps with financing at Eries request.

I wish that my first mortgage company could have been half as helpful as HAC has been

So far:

They have been very patient with me.

They have gone above and beyond with my interests in mind.

They have found many ways to save me money.

They repeatedly honor my requests in "fine tuning" my loans to meet my requirements.

They always keep in touch, even after hours and on their personal phones on weekends.

I agree with you 110% on Erie being a rip-off, but HAC shouldn't suffer because of Eries practices. I hope you don't have a complaint about HCA themselves. They are genuinely good honest people. Ask for Marti or Kristi, they know what they're doing, and they do it well. I'll post an update soon.

Thanks,
MIKE
